Description
Here is some of the work that I did while developing the character EYE GUY for the Cartoon Network Studios program Ben 10, the DTV BEN 10: SECRET OF THE OMNITRIX. Many possiblities were generated for the idea of Eye Guy, so here are an assortment of rough doodles from my process of possibilities....BEN 10 and all related characters are trademarks of and © Cartoon Network.

Number 1 reminds me of one of my favorite aliens, Cannonbolt. And i'm really like eyes on 9. Can't wait for more designs!

Ahhhh.... As that fine character was developed by my friend Dave Johnson ( [link] )....it may be a long wait. I have done quite a number of Ghostfreak Hybrids as can be seen on the fan gallery at ( [link] ).

Wow, there many designs. I like mostly all of them, Not to mention that they could be also use for future aliens.
btw did you also design Charmcaster? I remember there was a design of her on the 3rd DVD set but it was just her with caramel like coat instead of purple, There where many different designs of her?

I did design charmcaster. I did many versions as did my boss Dave Johnson. My original concept for her was to be more of a fox archetype, so that is why the colors seen on the DVD gallery where so different from the final pallete. I wasn't so much for the purples, but they came out okay.

Hey there. Yeah, I would have like to vary the bodies even more than I did, but there was a mandate from on high:
"Heroic / imposing physique. Multiple Eyes. The ability to shoot optical blasts. Looks vaguely superheroic...GO!"
So with that in mind, I had to rule out some of my more odd or alien options from the start. Ah well. that just leaves more of the odd folk for my own works later on, eh....
I did some freelance on the early episodes, but now work on "The Spectacular Spider-Man" with the mighty mighty Sean "Cheeks!" Galloway.

Spectacular Spider-Man? Yeah! I've been watching that one. That's a neat Spidey cartoon thus far, looks like a ton of fun to design.

Yup. Basically I would do the thumbnails above related to the parameters of the idea laid out before me by the script. Then once the rough ideas are reviewed by the producers, I hone the idea to a more finished and final concept. Viola.
