Number nine in my DANCE! series of Avatar fanart! Lately Zuko's been seeing the world in a whole new way--must be the modern dance lessons. Or the fact that he's upside down...(Kickflip for the win! It took me much too long to finish Zuko's pose, but clearly this is why; all my ideas were sort of angsty, and he was stubbornly waiting until I had the late-Season-Three, more upbeat Zuko to use as a model. Zuko's been turning a lot of things topsy turvy lately. Why not himself? {I continue to lose utterly at doing the swirl without Photoshop. Anyone feel like buying me a copy of Elements for Xmas?} Next up, look out for a dear departed friend!)
And what's he dancing to, you ask? His own beat. <3

I've always loved the idea of Zuko dancing - heck, it looks like he's doing it with some of his bending moves. This is a really cool picture, and I love the pose. Upside-down Zuko is quite awesome.

That trademark firebending move of his where he braces himself on his hands and swings his legs around has ALWAYS made me think of breakdancing. You know, the one they did in triple slo-mo replay during the turning point of his Agni Kai with Zhao...

I've gotta say... and this might sound weird... but I really love how you incorporated the graceful foot work of Firebending into the angles of Zuko's feet in this. I don't know why, but there's a distinct "ankle thing" Zuko does that makes him seem very light and agile. You've capture that here with a nice light spark : )

Thank you very much! You give me more credit for cleverness than I deserve, really, although I did pick the reference photo partly because I could totally imagine fire following the line of his leg in that kick, and blasting out from it.
Haha, Zuko's agility. I will never quite be able to take him seriously since that dorky little flipkick during his North Pole showdown with Katara. The Dancing Dragon, indeed.
