Well yeah this just about says it all. I feel so weird when people comment on the color on pieces like this, so I'm getting my obscenely easy process secret off my chest.Love to see anything people do with this!

This is my favorite type of tutorial - the kind that leaves it slightly more open for interpretation based on the reader's art tendencies. I love this! Thanks for sharing!

Not only this is insanely useful, but it's also so very funny to read! And BTW: to make things simpler is something that just who is REALLY good is able to do. You definitely are!

A very helpful tutorial. These are all things I theoretically knew, it just didn't occur to me to use these techniques together. Very helpful and to-the-point, thank you so much!

Oh neat. I'm a huge dramaticlightingtohidelaziness fan. Kinda similar to how I do it but I never though about using the gradient. I'll have to try it thanks!

Oh man, I love cheap effects. They work so well and create strong atmosphere and a story behind it!
(that's kinda how I work, too, tho. Well, when I feel like dark/light drama XD)

Well, there is some colour theory going on here. Blues and oranges are opposites, create contrast, and that's exactly what you used (:>
Lovely work though)

You are quite right--the idea here is that by using arbitrary colors and then adjusting their saturation and hue, you can luck into the "right" combinations. It's how I learned practical color theory!

SpacelingArt In reply to toerning [2010-10-23 20:18:09 +0000 UTC]
I think I learned it about the same way. I never quite understood it in class, but when I started messing around certain colours are just more pleasing to the eyes.
