It has a certain soothing effect.Β
Feels surreal yet quite natural.
Is it the color? or is the elements? Maybe both? I do not know.

Thank you. The song which inspired me to paint it is also surreal yet natural sounding.
Though there is no reference to Winter in the song it just seems to fit somehow. Winter itself is rather surreal yet soothing. A blanket of snow seems to simplify everything.

Beautiful! Love everything about it! Especially the clock...and the bird bath!

Thank you, Tara. Besides your bird bath being included in the painting I thought you'd like the grandfather clock. It's the same one I've used elsewhere to symbolize time.

This makes me think of my childhood winter days, playing outside until everything grew purple after the sun's gone down. These were just the same colours as here. Brilliant.

Now this picture has some eye candy, Jellyfish roaming in the air during one cold winter day.

Thanks. There are arctic jellyfish. Of course, this particular species are 'luminorphs' which have helium sacks in their bodies enabling them to float through the air.

That's cool, the ocean sure has alot more diverse creatures than walking on the land.

I also like the way that so many deep sea creatures glow and change color. It's rather spirit-like and has a mysterious and magical quality.

Thank you. I'm so glad you like it. The details do take a long time. This particular painting took me 106 hours over a 5 week period. I'm actually getting faster. I've spent as much as 200 hours on paintings in the past.

Jon Anderson's lyrics were a definite influence as well as the time of year (November) when I first heard this album back in 1972.
Also, I had coincidentally just read Isaac Asimov's 'Foundation Trilogy' at the time. There are several Foundation references in the lyrics- "foundation", "spiral aim", "no mutant enemy", etc.
This song and "Take a Pebble" by ELP are my two favorite songs of all time.
