Description
Follow up to this: [link] and this: [link]Sorry it's so big! Just don't zoom in all the way.
Yeah, this is the last one in this series, I promise, back to doing art that isn't rushed, stupid, and shit now. In any case, the idea just came to me and I had to do it, much like the other too.
To the people this is aimed at: please listen!
To the feathernazi's who are going to come in and go "but these guys were probably feathered too..." the answer is no. Let them have a few scaly theropods while they can, they might not be around for long.

The irony which isn't lost on me punwise is that Allosaurus is the "Other lizard."

I like the Allosaurus idea too. In fact I've always thought it looked like a cross between the archetypical T. Rex and raptor.

If this help I'm putting a megaraptor in one of my stories (as a Neovenatorid that is!)

OH!... BTW is it alright if one describes a Neovenatorid as a member of the Allosaur family?

I think so, they are Allosauroids and while not part of the Allosaur family strictly speaking (Allosauridae); it doesn't strike as an inherently wrong comparison.

I hate to say this, I've like drawing feathered theropods (like both megalosaurs and carnosaurs) and I can't help myself!

If all of these theropods end up feathered, then I'd expect a lot of rauisuchians or even Pristichampsus to become more popular. XD

Of course, theres always the possibility that it had some quills somewhere between the scales that didn't preserve.

I definitely agree with you, and this is a notion I've upheld for a while myself. There are so many different theropods that approach the inaccurate Jurassic Park image of a beastly, featherless Velociraptor. People need to wake up! I can easily imagine a pack of juvenile allosaurs role-swapping with the raptors in scenes from The Lost World: Jurassic Park, especially the long grass scene. Why must it be raptors? The retractable claw doesn't make them THAT much more badass, does it?

I don't recall the "raptors" using their claws for anything other than tapping on the ground anyway.

Yeah, they didn't even use the damn things until Jurassic Park III.

Actually a retractable claws punches through the cranium in JP 1.
