Description
In 25 years of creating fractals, this one has amazed me like no other. I am not talking about what you see here but the entire fractal, much of what still remains to be discovered. I always felt that fractals are spiritual. I have always believed that at any moment, God's face might appear or some amazing thing would be revealed. The totality of this fractal is truley mind blowing! I'll try to reveal more of it as I am able. What does this symbol represent and what is out there waiting to be discovered? No post work. Sterlingware2.I went very, very deep to find this - actually 3 days hunting. We fractalists are like photographers, we don't really create anything, we just find the image that exists when certain numbers come together. Then we just choose the portion we want to show.
Thanks for listening to my ramblings and thanks to my friend Jennifer for telling me I needed to turn over a new stone and find a new, fresh approach.
Tom

I don't know what you mean by you just found it..can you explain? I don't know a great deal about fractals!

I'll try. A fractal is created from a specified math formula. The actual size is infinite and is fully defined based on the formula. The fractal, if one zooms in enough, could cover the planet. The creation of the fractal then is to choose the formula, color and specific place to zoom to. The fractal then chosen is a "found" image.
I hope this makes things more clear and not more confusing.
Best regards,
Tom

that is fascinating!! I'm a huge nerd and the thought of that is mind blowing!! I love that kind of stuff, do you need a specific programme to create them and how do you decide upon the equations? I love math, and art...I can't believe one could equal the other and I never knew before!

Claire,
Give this fractal program a try . . . . [link]
The program is free and doesn't require much space. Sterlingware 2 (click on white button to upload.
Have fun!

Wow! Thank you so much...it'll take a while to get my head around it but I'd love to experiment-I've downloaded the programme, thanks again Tom..what an inspiration!

This, and its counterpart, are fantastic pieces. I'm glad you took the time to share a bit of your feelings behind the art as well

Thanks. I have always felt that fractals could unlock more than we think.

This is great! Is this sterling ware free? or is there a demo or something i could get? This and your others you did in Sterling Ware are amazing.

I believe Sterlingware 2 is an updated "Sterling" - based on Stephen C. Furguson's original "Sterling" fractal program. I believe Sterling is shareware($25.00 or ?) whereas Sterlingware 2 I think is freeware.

Thanks Keld. As I said above, I didn't create it, I only found it.
It seems like a crown to me and parts of the fractal repeat it in various ways a zillion times. Infinite actually.
