Jean Grey and Hawkgirl Amalgam. When Amalgam was all the rage in comics, me and some friends decided to do a directed Amalgam. Rather than focusing on the original characters (Marvel and DC) and combine likely characters, we had our end result already decided upon, then looked for two characters that would combine to create this character. A targeted Amalgam, in a similar way to Jitterbug ( www.deviantart.com/tonytempest… ).

In this case the character is one of my Spelljammer/Color Guard characters, Li Gayle www.deviantart.com/tonytempest… At the time she was an avarial psion (telepath/telekinetic). I've since dropped the psion aspect, but that original version of the character produced this pairing.

Another thing that was interesting was, considering this was a DnD character, the very natural name "Greyhawk" was very appropriate (Li actually hailed form Oerth, so, extra cool).

This was digitally inked and colored over a fairly old badly degraded scan of original pencils done by me.
