Harewhisker and Hazelbranch are Fireclan's two elders. They have been warriors and mates for many, many seasons. They were due to retire when Icestar became leader, and he forced Harewhisker and Hazelbranch to remain warriors, making them patrol and fight dispite their age. They managed to survive Icestar's brutality, and when Clovestar became leader, Harewhisker and Hazelbranch were finally able to retire and live the rest of their days peacefully

Harewhisker and Hazelbranch are the parents of Squirrelwhisker and Dewdust, and the grandparents of Squirrelwhisker's kits Brindlestalk, Sparkshine, Garlickit, Waxkit, Acornkit, and Dewdust's unborn kits
