Again, the same robot I did back in 1999.

I did this for a class. I think by that time, I was getting tired of the minimalist approach our school promoted. So, I said, I'm just going to draw a complicated looking robot.

Oh... on top of that, that's when PS2 was launghing. And one of the flagship game from Bungie (yeah... that makers)was this game called Oni. It was supposed to be "anime". This is time when Sony was pushing that PS2 will be able to display Toystory quality real time renderings and they were showing scenes from FFVIII and the Episode I supposedly being rendered in real time with PS2 hardware.

And when Oni was released, what did they have? PS1 quality 3D models with maybe little more polygon count and little higher res textures. One of the robot you face looked like it was made from stacked cardboard boxes.

So, in reaction to that, I decided to design something I would like to see in the "next gen" console. So, i actually pu an Oni logo on the robot's shoulder.

Also, this and the next image I will post is made while learning to use Photoshop. No Wacom tablet either (you hav eno idea how much I appreciate Wacom Tablet now). So, it took long time clicking mouse to finish this stupid thing...
