Description
Fun little concept I came up with.I had a older pair I made a while back and was not adequately satisfied with to finish; there was something wrong with it. It was unstable in spite of metal hardware and the metal bits that stabilized as best they could and held it together were aesthetically not pleasing to mine eye.
So I set about to solve this issue of the ugly hardware and ended up removing all the hardware, period! Full wood construction; hinge, frame, even the lock latch was replaced with a flush laying T-bar and mated slot to replace the need for a lock.
To prevent the T-lock from falling open, a nail was set into the inner side of the bar and a magnet was recessed into the pocket to hold them tight.
For myself at least this lock method has proven very difficult to open while wearing them without the use of a friend or a pointed object.
