Description Forrest was raised a good man, I had sensed that from the moment he stepped foot onto the bus and spoke,
"My name's Forrest, Forrest Gump". I had been sitting across from my friend Jenny, and he sat down next to her. She introduced herself, then I addressed him.
"I like your name," I told him. "It's like the forest where trees grow. I have one right behind my backyard, I play back there all the time. My name's Y/n." I held out my hand for him to shake, and he did so while responding.
"Thanks, it's nice to meet you Y/n. You have a pretty name too." And with that, me and Forrest along with Jenny became the best of friends. We were three peas in a pod.
The three of us stayed close all throughout our younger years, though it was obvious that Jenny had begun to drift away by high school. The three of us were still friends, don't get me wrong, it's just that me and Forrest were much closer than Jenny was, and she had begun to make some new friends. They were, well, interesting to say the least. But I won't get into that now. Enough about Jenny though, I was talking about me and Forrest. I hadn't known what I truly felt for him until the very end of Sophomore year.
Up until that day in the hallway, I had thought that my feelings for Forrest didn't go past friendly. I thought that I was happy with being simply his best friend. But when I saw little-miss-perfect Trudy Valence in the hallway flirting with him something just changed in me.
I had been walking towards Forrest's locker to meet him as I usually do so that we can walk to pottery together. However, as I rounded the corner and his locker came into view I saw not only Forrest standing there, but Trudy as well, trailing her hand up and down his bicep. The sight of her doing so made my blood run ice cold. Although Trudy wasn't the most popular girl in school she sure was up there on the list. Neither party had noticed me yet, so I began to walk up behind Forrest.
"So," I heard Trudy say, her two fingers slowly walking up his arm. "What do you think about going to the movies with me this Saturday?" I felt my blood begin to boil as I became more and more irate as she spoke, although I still wasn't quite sure why.
"Oh, I'm so sorry Trudy," I told her as I put my arm on Forrest's shoulder, feining an apologetic stare, "but Forrest already has plans for Saturday. He's coming over to my house."
"Oh really?" Replied Trudy in her irritatingly high voice before turning her attention fully to Forrest again. "How about you ditch this loser and come hang with me?"
"But Y/n's not a loser at all. Why would I do that?" Asked Forrest, confusion playing upon his features.  Trudy let out a huff and a small 'whatever' before spinning on her heel and walking away. "I don't remember making plans for this weekend Y/n." Said Forrest as we began the walk to our classroom. We needn't worry about being late though, as the class is close and the teacher is pretty fond of the both of us.
"Well," I began, but quickly stopped when I realized that I wasn't sure what to tell him. I couldn't just say that I made up plans so that he couldn't spend time with Trudy. "In short, you didn't. But I thought that we could get together and maybe study for finals or something. I know that they're still a month away and all, but it's never too early right?"
"Okay Y/n." Responded Forrest. By this point we had reached the classroom, so we both went our separate tables across the room. I sat down next to Jenny as per usual, and began finishing my plan for our end of the year project.
       "Y/n?" She asked.
       "Yea?" I responded.
"Are you feeling alright? You seem a bit out of it." Jenny said.
       "Really?"
"Yea. Did something happen between you and Forrest?" She inquired.
"Not between me and Forrest specifically I guess, but you know Trudy?"
"Tall, red haired, cheerleader Trudy?" Asked Jenny.
"Yea, that's the one. I saw her flirting with Forrest by his locker before class. I got there just in time to stop her from asking him out on a date." I explained, feeling my anger spike at the mere thought of it.
       "Well why'd you stop Trudy?"
"That's the thing! I don't know. For some reason, just thinking about the two of them together makes me madder than heck." I told her honestly.
"Y/n, do you like Forrest?" She asked me.
"Well of course I do. He's my friend, how could I not like him?"
" No, do you like Forrest?" She asked again, this time making sure to put a lot of emphasis on the word like. Her question left me in a moment of shocked silence. I'd always found Forrest handsome, I suppose, but do I really like him? Yea I laugh at all of his stupid jokes, and yea I'm happier when he's around. I always make sure to walk with him when I can at school, but that doesn't mean anything, does it? Then the realization hit me.
"I am in love with Forrest." I said aloud, though hushed so that he couldn't hear me from his table across the room.
"I knew it!" Exclaimed Jenny quietly.
"Oh, shut up you." I said, playfully hitting Jenny on her upper arm.
"Y/n, you've gotta tell him." She said. "Tell him after class. Or better yet, go talk to him right now!"
       "No way!" I exclaimed.
"Y/n, come on. You'll have to sometime."
"How about on Saturday? He's coming over, and that way it'll just be the two of us." At my words, Jenny released a small squeal.
"Girls, settle down over there." Came the teacher's voice from their desk. And with that, Jenny teased me left and right all hour about my being in love with Forrest until class let out.

*Le Time Skip To Saturday Brought To You By The Lazy Author*

Forrest would be here any minute. I rushed from my place next to the door where I was waiting for him to the mirror, checking once more to make sure that my hair was still in place and my clothes were adjusted properly on my body. Then I heard the doorbell ring. Forrest was here. I was telling him today, and now he's here. I felt my heartbeat speed up at the mere thought. The doorbell rang yet again so I rushed back over and opened the door.
As expected, Forrest was in the doorway when I opened it. However, something else was missing.
"Where are your books Forrest?" I asked him.
"Well, I was going to bring them but then I remembered that we still had a month, so I thought that maybe instead we could go back into the woods. I was curious if our treehouse was still there." Replied Forrest.
"Okay then. That will be much more fun anyway." I said. Maybe it will be easier to tell him this way too. I yelled to my dad upstairs saying where we were going, and we were on our way. I walked out the front door making sure it shut behind me before falling into step beside Forrest. We walked in a comfortable silence for a while as we ventured deeper and deeper into the woods behind my house.
"Hey Forrest, how's your mother doing?" I asked, trying to make casual conversation.
"She's doing just fine," he responded. "What about your folks?"
"They're both great." I told him.
       "Y/n?"
       "Yea Forrest?"
"Jenny said that there was something you wanted to tell me." As the words left Forrest's mouth, I froze.
"Jenny said, what?" I asked. Maybe I hadn't heard him correctly.
"She said that you wanted to talk to me about something. Something you were talking about the other day at school." I took a deep breath.
"Well, then yes. There is something I need to tell you."
"Well is it bad?" He asked in his adorable confused voice.
"It depends on what you think about me after I tell you."
"Then out with it." He said.
"Well, I, uh... reallyloveyouForrestbutit'sfineifyoudon'tfeelthesamewaywecanstillbefriensornotyouknowwhateveryouwantbut-" I said quickly, but Forrest interupted me.
"Y/n, slow down I can't tell what you're saying." I took another deep breath.
"I love you Forrest." I said, looking down nervously and fiddling with my hands.
"I love you too Y/n." He said.
"Are you sure you know what I mean Forrest? I don't mean like friends, I mean-"
"Y/n, I may not be a smart man. But I know what love is."
"Oh." I said. "How long have you known?"
       "Only a few months."
"Well, get over here and hug me you big teddy bear." I said holding my arms out, and he did. It felt amazing to be in his arms like this. His wrapped around my waist while my own were wrapped around his neck. This is going to be a very interesting Summer.

I had some extra time after finals today, so that's when I worked on this (Sorry for the awkwardness in the plot then). I should have more time tomorrow however for more fanfics!
