Try to apply the dark effect on the top with a different blending option, so it would "fit" into the picture, not make a uniform grandient effect.

There is a fluidity to this shot that makes it very effective. great job

This one is the most successful of this series! I love the contrast in the sky and the sand. The reason I think this one is the most successful is because you don't have a harsh burn/dodge mark around the figure. Your other ones you can clearly see a lighter border around each of the figures, but this one doesn't have that. It's very well-composed, and I like it a lot! Well done!
