Been a while since I've done one of these!
I originally wanted to do this one when I started posting the AU over on Ao3 (in celebration of adding more content of them in it) but I just never got around to it.
I originally didn't think about these two as a couple until later on in the first arc, around book three or so. I remember that canon White/Tiger was a semi-popular ship years ago, so I wanted to include it. The canon version is a lot more angsty than the AU one, where it's just sad as Whitestorm watches Tigerstar slowly lose faith in everyone around him, including Whitestorm himself.
In the TB timeline, Tigerstar is a warrior before Whitestorm is born - however, the two don't become a couple until some time before the first arc, when Tigerstar is leader and Whitestorm's made a name for himself as a senior warrior. They decide to have kittens, using Willowpelt as a surrogate for Sorreltail, Rainwhisker, and Sootfur (that part of the family tree isn't confusing to look at in the slightest /s)!
I enjoy their dynamic as ThunderClan dads and I think, in the AU at least, they're together again in StarClan, relaxing and watching over their kits (and Tinystar).
