His mother dropped him off at an orphanage door step and he grew up bouncing from foster home to foster home.
He was always a troubled child due to him growing up under unstable living conditions and this resulted in him becoming rebellious and spending the night in the jail cell on multiple occasions.
Eventually he was old enough to be kicked out of the foster system and had to fend for himself

- When he was 15, he was caught stealing and because the people around town were sick of the police not "doing anything" and decided to try and teach the kid a lesson themselves.
He got caught red handed so he would remain red handed, causing him to receive a nasty burn to his hand, something that was worse then the shop keeper intended to happen.
- He is terrified of clowns
- The closed hearted Rattata has been with him since he was very little... Mostly because it kept stealing his food
