Description
The regiment was established by General Carl Gustaf Rehnskiöld in the year 1700. It then participated with distinction in campaigns and battles that the Swedish army conducted in Poland and Russia during the Great Northern War. The regiment was reformed after the surrender in the wake of the Battle of Poltava in 1709, and served in various forms until the regiment was merged with the Turku and Pori Province Cavalry Regiment and Uppland Rank Dragoon Regiment in 1721. The Life Dragoon Regiment appear to have had the same uniform colours throughout the war and this is of course just an impression of what their uniforms looked like.
