Description
Species: Makuni (AKA Ferntails)Homeworld: Tathaine
Average Height: 4'5"
Languages: Maalah'kuu, Galactic Common
Allignment: Heavily Spiritual
Diet: Omnivorous
Thought by some to have evolved from the carnivorous plants native to their homeworld, it has actually been proven that Makuni are indeed reptiles. Albeit warm-blooded reptiles like several species of dinosaur actually were. While they are not one of the five elder races that founded the Galactic Alliance, they have been part of the Alliance nearly since the beginning.
Shortly after joining the alliance, the Makuni entered a heavy industrial age in which most of their homeworld's forests and jungles were cleared to mine minerals and resources as well as making room for cities. Destroying the forests unleashed a deadly virus which killed over two thirds of the Makuni population. Fearing that they were punished by their gods for destroying their homeworld, they reverted back to their naturalistic roots and now live in peace and harmony with the forests of their planet.
Their modern cities are considered 'primative' to most other species, but their homeworld still has some impressive spaceports. Their natural medicine is well known throughout the galaxy and has cured many diseases and illnesses.
The Makuni are also known as 'Ferntails' because of their trademark leaf shaped tails.

I decided to sit down and do some personal art while waiting for a few people to get back to me on commissions.
This species has been with me for several years now and were originally based on a creature that I made in Spore. I don't think I've publicly shared any information about them before this. Their temperament and history is based on a hodgepodge of different aliens from the Star Wars universe.
They... actually wear more clothes then the gentleman above is wearing. He's just in minimal clothing to better show his markings.
I will make a species sheet for them eventually. They will likely become an open species, but not until I finish said character sheet. In the meantime, I have a few other species sheets in the works, including a special one for Shark Week.
