Description ....well, not always beautiful.

(Cockroaches, as most insects, are pure white when they first molt, or shed their skin. Soon after molting, they eat their shed skin to gain back the energy used during the molt. Many insects shed parts of their organs, so molting is a very delicate, intricate and important process to get right. I find the whole thing beautiful, though most find it sick and repulsive.)

pff, I wish us humans molted instead of shedding constantly! I just love how bugs or herps look after a good molt, so new..

OOOOH THAT IS LOVELY! I so do love arthropods... and especially after they have gotten past the larval phase.

its a very interesting idea
wouldn't it be odd if we had exo-skeletons?

It is a very novel and efficient way to grow, particularly when the old exoskeleton is eaten.

Lovely ^_^ I for one love the molting process. I have a friend who saves his Hissers molts if they don't get eaten and I used to love finding cicada and locusts molts when I was a kid.
