I was under the impression that Spike and the resurrected nightmare-power Rarity were the parents of Sparity. Therefore Spike KNOWS that Rarity is alive.

Its both Rarity and Nightmare Rarity. And living is a hell of a reward for doing the nasty with the little scaly dude. The really creepy part is there filly is essentially a preordained Nightmare Moon rather than being its own person.

That's what I thought at first too, but in Vavacung's world, reincarnation is a regular thing. So what I'm thinking, is when a baby is conceived, it's assigned a soul. So, Nightmare Rarity isnt really destroying or replacing the filly's soul, she's just agreed to be asigned to the body that Rarity and Spike will make.
