Wow ok. So I started doodling, and you know how your doodle progressively gets bigger and then you like parts of it so you try and salvage it and make a picture out of it and then realize it looks nothing like what you've started with?That's what this is.
First Wade had a sword. And then I told myself, Tessa. Wade would stab himself in the foot before he got anywhere with a sword. So I changed it to flashlight. And I realized that was a lot more like him.
Then I thought of putting him in the vents doing what he does best. Hacking. Thieving. All though...apparently though that's what he does best, he's still has some trouble with it. I....the dialogue is sooo lame. To be honest I just wanted to carve speech bubbles outta the blackspace. So I frantically wanted to give him something to say.
And wow I'm talking a lot. Anyways enjoy. It was fun to make.

You are god of black and white! What exactly is your process... is this computer, hand done and scanned, etc?

Everything is hand-done except for the bubbles and the lettering, which I did in photoshop. Usually I do the bubbles by hand, but this was a last minute thing. Otherwise it's me, a piece of paper, sharpies and a rollerball.

Even though I've really never looked through your stuff, it just seems from this picture that this is just... -so- typical of this character to do and say. o_o And I have no idea what he's like. But that's the point. You must be very good at the whole inked... comicish.. thing, to be able to convey something like that. o_o (*reads over what she just typed and cannot figure out what she was trying to say*) The design and the perspective (and the shirt :3) and everything is all... well, there's really only one word for it. And that word is SWANKY. >:0 Neato is also good.
Regarding what you said about the whole finished-product-being-completely-differ ent-from-the-original-concept thing- Sometimes that's actually how the best of stuff is done. o.o *nod* Or maybe that's not what you were trying to say at all. xD Whatever. All I know is, the potato thing.. really makes it. T_T As has been said by.. um.. a couple people. *points*

*giggles at the idea of Wade with a sword and then him mis-using it on himself, even though it's a cruel thought* The speech bubbles really make the composition nice and balanced, which you are innately good at because ALL your stuff is like that. <_< >_> (people with talent....*mutters*) I'm always just so amazed at what you can do with just TWO colors, not even any mid tones! It's crazy!! CRAZY GOOD! It always looks natural and well detailed, not using contrast as a crutch to give it that "different" look, but to work it as if it's just in color. It's like reading subtitles for so long that you think the people are speaking in english....ookay I probably just sound stupid now, but really. I love color, but I think your black and white usage is exceptional.

Oh, the black and white contrasy makes me so very happy! I really love the finer cross-hatching behind Wade on the grate, indicating the light from the flashlight. And his glove! And the perspective! Oh, it just makes me happy on so many levels. I am also quite in love with his belt and the ties on his sleeves. 3/4 lengths! WOO. I should make one of my shirts like that. Then I could be cool and theif-y like Wade.
