Description
It was too unreal to believe,And yet too lucid to discredit.
There was a party raging around us
In the foyer last night,
But the only thing I noticed was you.
You stood before me,
Glowing and radiant,
Like an angel fallen to Earth.
Your face conveyed confidence yet suggested vulnerability,
As if you wanted it to happen as much as I did.
And then it did.
Slowly at first,
As if pulled by gravity,
We drifted closer and converged.
We clung to each other fiercely,
Unwilling to be torn apart and have the moment ruined.
Our lips grazed and then finally met,
And behind my closed eyes fireworks bloomed.
The flowers of light, though, quickly stretched into bars,
And in a rush I awoke to the morning light, to harsh reality.
It had been a dream after all.
