Description
An unfinished map for a fanfic that never materialized (and won't). It is not intended to be canon and is more than a decade out of date. I won't be working on it anymore, in any case. Sorry!

The work you put into this map is just mind blowing, even more so considering how early on in the fandom this was. If your writing is half as impressive as your planning... you'll have a classic of the mlp era to your name.
I just hope it actually happens, given it is 4 years since you started, and most mlpverse creators don't seem to last that long.

My friend TheMyth showed me this map and we decided on using it for a new series of fanfics we're writing together called The Arcane, which actually makes many parts of the series a lot easier to write; so if you wanted more info or just wanted to talk to us about the map in case there was anything important about it, that would fantastic!
The first book of the series, with any luck of school not interfering with my schedule, should come out in the next few months, and as a final note, thank you for making such an amazing map!

There are a few races that I need to sort out where their homeland would be, and I just can't seem to find a way to do so...

You know what I just realize? North America would at least take up 1/4 of this map, if your map scale is true.
EDIT: Wait nevermind. Even bigger. More than half.
The reason why I have a problem with this is that I can't call those Oceans when America is 10x the size of the "Antlertic Ocean."

I want to use this map for my story, Equestrian Earth, and I'm curious about that Pink border surrounding the map. I already have an idea of what to make of it, but I want to know your canon idea of that leyline.

Sorry for the late response. It's probably not so relevant now, but the gist of it is that they're ley lines. In the map's canon (at the time it was made) they were impassible walls of magic that wreak havoc on the climate and topography of the surrounding geography.
In the new incarnation of the map's canon, they are simply points of interest; points of no return. Mysteries and anomalies. No two explorers will give the same account of what the areas are like, and no one that have ventured further has ever returned. As such, they're regarded as if they were the end (or edge) of the Earth.

My canon follows similar ideas, although leylines can also be tapped into by magic users to release incredible power, as well as means to travel faster. A capable magic user could use the leylines to travel within it and wander through it to another place where the leylines connect to. However, this is considered incredibly dangerous and one using the leylines to travel cannot stay there for too long, otherwise they would be lost within its currents forever.

One small thing.Β I can't seem to find the Crystal Empire on this map.Β Have you yet to update it since season 3?

There's no Saddle Arabia either. You're just gonna have to use your imagination.
I think Saddle Arabia can replace CAMELU, and as for the Crystal Empire, it's beyond my imagination except getting rid of a few frozen settlements above Germaneigh to make room for it.

It's a shame that there's nothing really concrete (yet?) in terms of the story of this map. Someone had to discover all these places, and there is just Enormous potential in so many of these place names.
