it's more or less the tone of voice in which most judge sarcasm, but saying something along the lines of "Yeah, because that makes sense..." is more often than not (through my own experience online, as anyone I've said it to, sans a select few (being you and possibly one other), has gathered that it is sarcasm.

The way I see it, the apple represents our Souls, torn by the dichotomy of our choices between a rational mind and an unreasoning heart. The staples represent a fragile balance of compromise in the twain so that we are not driven into oblivion by madness.

kewl-although um..thatz like the 100000000000000th time in my life I hav seen to appels stapled together...itz still a good picture though and I really like it...most apples I hav seen stapled together...are quite demented looking 0.o

I think that this is a good photo, but not a DD. Why? It's unoriginal, I've seen the two apples stapled togeather so many times it's not funny. So many of these photos have shown up its just sad.
Altough this is the best one I've seen so far.

Somebody in my school did something similar where they sewed two apple halves together; one half was green, one half was red. He did it for his art final. Our art teacher got it printed on some shiny paper and stuck it up on the wall for ages.

I'm not really sure how the concept relates to dreams and reality and their relationship to life. The girl seems pointless, the apple halves have no real reason of being together.
In execution, the photo is well done, but this just seems like another "let's put two halves of apples together!" shot.
