Made with DeviantArt muro , GIMP 2, with Water Based MarkersHere we go! This is another of several character profiles for the heroes and villains I'll be featuring in future stories. Another elemental OC for the series, now with extra SPICE!
Along with each profile I'll be giving a brief summary of the characters history in the description. Now lets HEAT THINGS UP and get to know Pyro!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sitting in the Atlantic, lies the peaceful Infernus Isle. The locals of this tropical islands enjoy the peaceful black sandy beaches, the fertile soils rich for farming, the vast rainforests, and the gentle glow of the burning volcanic mountainside… ok maybe that last part requires a little more explanation. Infernus Isle is a volcanic island and is constantly lit aflame by volcanic activity. The fertile soils of the island, the black sand beaches, the tropical jungles are all products of the single volcanic mountain on the island named the Phoenix Nest. Though obviosuly this raises of the question of how live so close to an active volcano without worry? The answer is quite simple, you turn to the islands resident fire elemental, Pyro. A native to the islands he makes his in the literal heart of the Phoenix Nest, where he overlooks the volcanoes activity Though when he’s not making sure the mountain doesn’t explode, he’s out looking for action. Engaging in such extreme sports as surfing on literal waves of lava, flying through volcanic vents, and practicing his pyrokinesis with a display of “homemade fireworks”. He’s the very definition of thrill-seeker, and even when he tries to play it cool, he lets his burning passion and energy shine through. Coupled with his propensity to pour in the energy of a raging inferno into the simplest of tasks just to help people, he was the third member to be accepted into Team GX’s ranks.
Pyro’s burning passion and dedication to the people of Infernus Isle, is something that holds dear to heart. He’s part of long lineage of caretaker on Infernus Isle, who over see the wellbeing of the island, it’s people, and the Elemental Stone lying in the heart of the island’s volcano. However, while Pyro understands his position and the responsibility that comes with it, he lacks a certain finesse with his abilities as highlighted by his tendency to go overboard with his powers in even the simplest tasks. He’s simply to energetic for his own good and lacks discipline with his inherited powers, which he’s fully aware of. In fact, he knows the reason he isn’t the best caretaker of the island is because, he wasn’t meant to be the current one. See in his family the firstborn of each generation would give rise to new fire elemental, and the previous caretaker would go and teach them of their abilities and pass on the role of caretaker. Pyro was a rare exception to this rule, since he was the second kid and usually elemental powers were passed onto the firstborn child. He had an older brother who was being trained to be caretaker, and his parents focused on training him first since his mastery of fire far exceeded Pyro’s and he’d have to take up the mantel of caretaker first. Though the struggles of teaching one how to control the destructive nature of fire into something productive was time consuming and demanding, and Pyro’s parents often gave his brother much more of their time and attention. Pyro basically lived in his brother’s shadow, regards as no less than the inexperienced youngster who could be dealt with later. But this was something his brother was aware of, and he tried to be there for Pyro. Often, they’d sneak out together later at night, and his older brother would try to teach young Pyro about his powers, passing down what their parents had taught him. It wasn’t the most effective training, that’s for sure, but the two brothers grew closer and formed a near unbreakable bond. Pyro looked up to him, because even though his brother was destined to be greater than him, he didn’t act like it. He’d lower himself to Pyro’s level, treat him as equal, and teach him about the role he’d soon inherit himself. Though Pyro inherited that role far sooner, than he or anyone else could have expected. On a particularly stormy night, the Phoenix Nest was threatening to erupt, as if some supernatural source was super charging the volcano and forcing it to blow. Pyro’s parent’s and his brother left him alone that night with the sole promise that’d he’d be destined for great things. They entered the volcano and didn’t return. Pyro was left alone, to learn to harness his powers on his own, care for the people on the island, and now protect the Volcanic Stone.
Like a burning fire Pyro decided to use the fuel of that loss to become stronger and uphold his family’s legacy. He’d help and protect the people of Infernus Isle, and like his brother he’d never place himself above them. Regardless how meaningless the task, how dangerous the prospect, he’ll pour all is energy into helping others. The same goes for Team GX, he’ll stand by his friends and fight whatever new challenge comes their way. While being around other elementals has certainly helped him hone his abilities, he’s still got a long way to go. Always excited to face a new challenge, be it supervillain or simple of chore, there’s nothing anyone can do to dose the blazing passion that is Pyro.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly I can't really think of bad fire elemental in media, there always just so awesome. And considering we already had a Water and Nature elemental, it was only necessary we round out the essential trio. Other than that, all I can say were the biggest inspirations for this character were Johnny Storm (The Human Torch), Heatblast from the Original Ben 10, and Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender.
Hopefully you all enjoy! Please remember to tell me what you like and constructive criticism is always welcomed. See ya later!
