This is awesome. I have a question though. How do you get the picture to have no lines in the end? What is your process..?

You have the lines and paint on different layers, so that you paint on top of the lines, i.e. you cover them up. Just like in a real painting.

Thanks for asking, actually here I picked them with the eyedropper tool, but I wouldn't recomend it, you don't learn anything about colours that way. I have stopped to use that tool to make this kind of things, it feels bad. But then again, I have stopped tp paint like this. hah.

Nice tutorial.
Im a novice trying to learn Digital Painting so excuse my question.
When you paint those highlights, How do you Smoothen them together? Smudge ?? Or some other technique

Thank you! I usually do the highlights by picking a brighter colour and then apply it with a normal (or textured) brush at different opacitys and flow. I don't like the smudge tool that much, it looks rather bad in my opinion. If you have your opacity on a low percentage % and go over the place over and over again you'll notice that it becomes brighter the way you want it to. The same things goes with shadows. If you have any more questions, just ask! Sorry for the late reply btw.

Uhm I'n not sure.. I have been working with photoshop since late 2005 but started with portraits in autumn last year... I havn't really thought of that before x)
