Summoned entity/guardian swallows it's summoner/charge to protect them. The charge is still panicked and is radiating a painful aura on instinct. The guardian entity is not harmed by the aura, it simply draws energy from it and turns it against their unseen foe(s).

At first, everything felt cold... so very cold. Not a single living soul was in sight, not for miles. The plains were empty and just darkness on all sides. There was nothing, everyone had disappeared. Only one lay huddled on the ground, emotions slowly rising as the isolation took over. This empty cold and dark was not going to be tolerated. It was against their nature, a burning desire for someone, anyone swelled up inside. They needed a companion, a pack to follow and to be a part of something bigger than themselves. And they were going to find it, even if they had to track it down themselves.
