Chapter 1
I breathed heavily as my eyes opened. Have I… Have I respawned? I wondered, glancing around to see a room of gray. My body was sore and I looked to see bands over my wrists. Then, I heard a voice.
“You’re back,” said a female voice and I looked over to see a lady in a white lab coat with blond hair and bright blue eyes. “Welcome back to the world of reality…” The bands over my wrists released as I slowly sat up. My teeth were clenched at the sore pain.
“Where… Where am I?” I asked, my voice just barely audible as I glanced around before focusing back on the lady. She looked away and breathed out before looking back at me.
“I already told you Skye. You’re in the world of reality…” she said and suddenly it was as if a door was opened and memories were seeping into my mind. Us coming here, getting told what was to be done, choosing our looks, and then diving in.
“Wait, so-” I whispered, looking at her and she nodded.
“It’s done,” she told me with a smile. The game… simulation is finally over. I thought. I closed my eyes and sighed.
“How long? How long were we in there?” I asked. She was about to answer before the door behind her opened and a man walked in.
“I see you’re back,” he commented and I nodded.
“Yeah. But back to the question. How long were we in there?” I asked, my voice a bit more firm.
“You were in there for almost six months,” answered the man. Six months… Six months of my life I spent in there and what did I learn? I thought before their voices interrupted my thoughts.
“The others will be waking up soon. But before then there’s something we have to tell you. Just promise not to hurt us,” the man began and I, slowly nodded, worried about what was about to be said. The man glanced at the women, his blue eyes full of worry before looking at me.
“While you were in there he- He somehow got into our system and got our information,” the man said and my blood turned to ice as I went cold. I trembled a little as fear was coursing through me with another thing, anger. My gaze meet theirs and they knew… They quickly opened the door behind them and left the room. I closed my eyes and breathed. He has the information. He may have been in there… He could’ve seen everything. I thought. I’m so dead…
