Chapter 10
“It’s coming close to escape time,” said a voice. The other person nodded.
“But you know we’ll be found out about by him soon. He’s going to find us and this information,” said the other person. “Then, he’ll use it against them once they return.”
“I know. That won’t be too long either. She already knows what to do, even if she can’t remember everything yet. I know she’ll, no they’ll be doing it soon…” said the first person.

Kai
I glanced down at the iron sword point just centimeters away from my throat. My diamond sword was too far out of reach. Blood was dripping down my arm from the slash in my wrist and I bit my lip and as if I couldn’t get into a worse position she knocked me flat on my back, onto the floor.
“Scarlet, What do you want?” I asked, glaring at her. But before she could answer she seemed to freeze, her eyes narrowing and for a second I could hear it. A voice. It was faint to me, but still audible. Scarlet, you’ve returned back to your original self again. You’ve come back. It whispered. The voice sent shivers down my spine and I knew exactly who it was, the person the other part of Scarlet was terrified of. Come to where I’m at and we can catch up on what’s happened. It said. Scarlet nodded and glanced at me.
“I guess I’ll have to answer you later. As I said before it was nice seeing you again, even if we couldn’t have a real fight to the end like last time. I’ll see you later,” she said and I looked up to see Blake open the door for her before I could even say anything. The white door shut closed immediately after she went through. But then I felt a jab of pain in my side and the voice spoke again, directly to me. I’ll be seeing you again later. Also, never listen in on the conversations meant for others again. The voice said and I hissed in pain, closing my eyes for a few seconds and giving a slight nod. Yes. I thought and I could tell they heard me because a presence seemed to fade even when the pain stayed. I clutched my side and sat up slowly before backing up to have my back against the wall. This thing, person was just as bad as Scarlet said. But the other Scarlet being back and them having a hold of her again. This won’t be good. I’m sorry I couldn’t fulfill the promise… I thought before the pain became too much and I blacked out.

Scarlet
I walked down the hall with Blake at my side.
“It’s nice seeing you back again. You jumping on Kai like that wasn’t unexpected or at least I expected you to do something like that,” said Blake. I nodded.
“Yeah. Once I was able to escape and take control I jumped at the chance. She’d lost all of her options and what she didn’t think about was me taking her over in those few seconds of weakness. She normally keeps her guard up. But after the encounter with him she lost it, became very fearful. It’s always been that way though. That part of me just can’t let go of that fear. But it could be used to do something else,” I told me. He look at me.
“What do you mean?” he asked. The word came to mind as soon as he asked.
“Escape,” I told him.
“Wait, but you know how hard it is to escape his-” Blake started but I cut him off.
“I know. But I don’t mean just here I mean something much bigger than that,” I told him and left the conversation at that to leave him in the dark. Not long after that we reached the room. I knew what to do so Blake just let me go on ahead. I opened the door and went inside. Letting the door close behind me I stood facing him.
“Well, hello again,” I said. He nodded.
“Yeah. Welcome back,” he said.
“Thanks. I took the chance once she had lost all hope. I don’t know how she’s going to come back after having that run in with you. She- no that part of me was scared to death. You must’ve brought back those fears, the memories that had been lost,” I told him and he nodded.
“Could be. The memories could be returning. Amnesia seems to be a bit common when you come back here after a death,” he told me. Yeah. It’s strange, people getting amnesia when coming back, well at least the ones that do come back. Some never return. I thought, thinking back to the incident from long ago. But I pushed it away knowing that was the other part of me thinking of that, remembering it again. The flames, screams, and a place destroyed. The guilt was a bit strong, but it didn’t sway me. He noticed me thinking and I could feel him invading my mind, trying to twist it and search me. I glared at him wishing he’d stop doing that. But I knew that was what had gotten to the other part of me. The invasion of the mind, the words in your head, and the pain. I broke the silence to break his concentration.
“I already told the boy that I wasn’t going back easily. After a break I’m stronger now,” I said. “Also, don’t try anything because I know what you’re fearing. That situation is inevitable and it will happen someday,” I told him and his eyes narrowed.
“I know it’ll happen even if I don’t want it too. But then I’ll know everything I need to know about you to make you something you never wanted to be,” he said and breathed in sharply, taken back by the comment. I knew the other part of me had the same reaction to that as I did. I could feel it.
“I’d just say to watch your back. In the end you may not be on top, the ruler of everything. Your friends, servants, may rebel against you and it’s not a game anymore. It’ll be a war,” I said and with that I turned away from him, walking toward the door. Even as this part of myself I wasn’t going to let myself be controlled by him. He knew it’d happen somewhere, here and somewhere else. In the end everything for him would come crashing down on him and he’d be ruined.
