I'm just wondering, for the Oblivion Keyblade, is it possible to add the chain and bolts after the painting is done, or would that create a somewhat different effect?

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

vvmasterdrfan In reply to Flutterby-whisper [2011-12-14 02:31:50 +0000 UTC]

you could.. but i would rather not get glue all over the paint

Very nice ! And yeah I've found someone else using gesso as prime on his props ^^ Well actually I've only started to use gesso on my latest prop (Mjolnir) ... Also I didn't want the gesso to be flat on my prop : I used it to give a tiny texture which I used with washing and dry brush painting techniques, in order to make a cool metal look (especially in close up)
Nice tutorial ^^

Hi,

I love your tutorial and i was wondering what is the height and width of the key-blade i mean the handle and the key at the top? Keep up with the amazing work.

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

vvmasterdrfan In reply to AlexXe666 [2011-11-08 15:32:18 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!
It varies by keyblade. If you follow the instructions, the total length of the keyblade should range from 39-42 inches. Using the trace paper on a large screen method, accurately tracing the keyblade reference image, (given you use the proper image from Google or the kingdom hearts wiki page) should give you proper and exact dimensions of the handle and the blade.

vvmasterdrfan In reply to alpha7898 [2011-10-25 19:02:05 +0000 UTC]

hmm. i have no idea actually. i just use pine wood. i would research oak wood for carving on google and see if its a good material to use.

It's me again, sorry to bug you with the wood again, but what type of wood did you use(like maple, oak, etc.)?
P.S: Again, sorry

šŸ‘: 0 ā©: 1

vvmasterdrfan In reply to kuraudoarasoi0013 [2011-12-17 01:54:58 +0000 UTC]

haha its alright. You can bug me all you'd like.
I used pine plywood. I just used whatever they had at the hardware store. nothing fancy, I'm sure there might be better woods to carve things with, but.. i haven't really researched that. Anything that's Pine should work though.
