Edit: I KNOW there is a 3DS version of Generations, and that's cool, but NOT THE SAME. Was the DS version of Colors identical to the Wii version? No.Be warned, the paragraph after the comic description is me standing on a soap box.
Okay, I gotta admit, this comic is a manifestation of my nerd rage, but I always try to channel that kind of thing in a positive way. How can Sonic's 20th anniversary game not get a wii port?! Don't give me the hedgehog engine crap because a very minor graphical downgrade would allow it to run just fine, like Sonic Colors did. Think of this, there have been 11 Sonic games made exclusive for nintendo consoles (not counting re-releases of old games) which include pretty much all of the best reviewed and received. In that time there have been 4 games NOT made for nintendo consoles, the most prominent example being the now infamous "Sonic '06" which was made for Sonic's 15th anniversary. I can't believe Sonic Team would repeat that mistake from 5 years ago. I'm sure generations will be an awesome game, but people who own XBox's and PS3's probably won't be interested in it because they'll have memories of '06 and no particular attachment to Sonic, since it's not an FPS or gritty sandbox crime game. Wow this sounds so much like a fanboy rant, but is it so much to ask that I can count on a series to have all of it's games come out on one console, or at least be TRULY multi-platform?
I've noticed that people seem to have an unusually narrow definition of what a Sonic game is. I've received comments and arguments from people who say that games like Sonic Adventure, Black Knight, even Sonic colors aren't "true" Sonic games because only pure side scrolling platformers count. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP! I only ever hear this stupid argument coming from Sonic games, nobody ever claimed that Star Fox Adventure wasn't a Star Fox game, or Zelda 2 wasn't a Zelda game, or Paper Mario wasn't a Mario game...well I can go on and on about Metroid, resident evil, and a bunch of other series that make games in more than one basic genre. The fact is that every game Sonic stars in is a Sonic game, just as any other series is defined by its star.

Sonic Unleashed was awesome (apart from the werehog stages)and i enjoyed sonic colours a bit. especilly when you could be super sonic when you get all the red rings in all the levels and beat the sonic simulator. this is only for the wii though. sorry DS owners for getting your hopes up.

I have Sonic Colors and Unleashed (Wii version). And no, I won't count Sonic Unleashed as part of the "Awesome Sonic games" cuz of people's opinions on the Werehog stages.

if you had the PS3 version you would love it. but i must agree that the werehog stages suck. i was only including the day time levels by the way.

the PS3/360 version of Unleashed has better graphics, and more (and longer) Daytime stages. That's a point in its favor. However, the Werehog stages had worse control and camera, the hub world broke game flow and added pointless tedium, the Tornado stages were nothing more than QTEs that dragged on for SEVEN FREAKING MINUTES, and worst of all was that the game forbid you from advancing until you collected an arbitrary number of sun and moon medals, which could only be found by retracing levels YOU ALREADY BEAT to find the ones you missed. When you compare the two the Wii version simply comes out on top, although kind of for the wrong reasons.

wasn't the wii version the worst version of sonic unleashed? anyway i like the PS3 version because how fast you can make sonic go. in some small parts of the day time levels, not all of them though, you can hear sonic feet actually make contact to the ground, which i thought was kind of cool. i also realised are that with the Ps2 and wii versions the boost bars are in little chunks so you can't keep on boosting like in the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions where the boost bars are just one long bar that refills even when you are boosting. i'd find the game better if you could run to the other continents. but you would have to take the plane there first. the medal collecting was frustrating though now that you mention it. it took me two days to just to find one sun medal since how fast sonic goes. it's also stupid to make sonic smash things just to get an S when he becomes a werehog. sonic is a freakin hero who can run at the speed of sound, not a destructive mass of fur and muscle ruining peoples lives and his reputation. He is allowed to ruin Eggman's life though. SEGA went to far with this game. if it was just normal speedy sonic this game, could of been better than even some of the classic or, if not, all of the classics. this may not do with the game play but sonic unleashed should not of been rated G. it should of been PG since when Dark Gaia transforms to Perfect Dark Gaia. there is blood. and it more eyes than it should of had even one coming out of it's mouth. eww. i reckon 10 year olds would of had nightmares after that. i was even a little creeped out and i'm 15, it looked like sonic did get creeped out too. if i were sonic back then i would of been like WTF. but it seems like sonic is beginning to run at full speed again so i guess i don't need to yell at SEGA, for now.
Sorry for my long rambling, i got a bit carried away. I would like to tell you that i am thinking of writing my own sonic story with evil super sonic it. Someone dies but i am not telling who. P.S you may get shocked.

Sonic games aren't supposed to be about pure speed, they're supposed to be platformers with momentum based challenges, a lot of fans actually hate the boost mechanic from rush, unleashed, and colors, because it can make the game feel like it's playing itself, a criticism that I can actually understand. Also, the boost bar in the wii version does refill while you're running, and it is possible to pretty much boost through a whole level if you're good enough.

i kinda grew up with sonic speeding off and me not knowing where i was going, but i understand. some parts of those games you practically didn't have any control especially when your running through loops and in rush, if you just hold down the boost button without touching left of right you still boost. Unleashed still was praised for some of the parts where you end up running at full speed for half a minute to one and a half minutes. i have a question. what Sonic voice did you like most? i'm guessing you are going to pick Jaleel White. I would Jason Griffiths. Voice actor of Sonic from Sonic X to Sonic and the black knight.

Jaleel White has tons of nostalgic value to me, but I think every Sonic Voice actor has been competent and delivered a good performance (can't say the same for the writers, but the VA's have always been good.) If I had to pick a favorite I'd go with the newest one, besides sounding a little more mature he delivers a good humor and attitude that fits Sonic's character.

Well Jaleel white did voice sonic in Sonic CD and some of his early TV shows. Did you know that some sonic fans are making a Sonic movie. Jaleel White is voicing as Sonic. the movie gets released in june since it is Sonic's birth month. Sonic is fully animated but there are a few actual people in the movie. will actual places in the movie. The movie will be based on Sonic 1.

Although I have a 360... I don't really want to invest money on a game that I can't use online features unless paying more money, and having it on a console I'd more than gladly get rid of :/

what can they do with the London Olympics that they didn't do in Beijing and Toronto? Unless they make Doctor Who a playable character there is no real draw for it. (Though if it has a story mode like the DS version of winter olympics had it could convince me otherwise.)

Actually they have to help them to keep it from ending. Eggman because he still wants to make bloody eggmanland and Bowser.....uh....oh who cares. An idea popped into my head. Sega and Nintendo should make a Mario and Sonic adventure game. You can have a choice to play as mario or sonic. they should ake mario not save peach this time. lets make it that peach can help.

I would love a Mario and Sonic adventure game...people mention it all the time. Sadly, I think it was stated that Mario and Sonic was only 'party games' or something along those lines.

Yep, the one from StC. he is a demon so it would fit the end of the world sonic games. if they didn't come up with mephile's for sonic 06 i would of suggested Super Sonic. Bloody hell he looks like good super sonic on speed. Lots of it. You know how Sega hasn't announced the bad guy for sonic generations? how awesome would it be if it were Super sonic. i would sell my Wii to get it or be slave for a week just to get it. and imagine his voice. it would definately sound like a psycho version of Sonic's voice. also something has crossed my mind. if shadow is in Sonic generations, who is going to voice him?

Sadly, I'm poor too.... but at least I have the, despite my hatred for it, a 360 that I can play Generations on.
I haven't read much of StC, but tbh, I think it would be better than Archie... yeah, I can't say I like the way Archie characters are handled, especially the fact they confirmed Sally is a Mary-Sue in Archie.
Now, would Super Sonic simply find his way to the Sonics, or would he be separated from regular Sonic again?

Hmm. well i guess it would be cool if Super Sonic was in him but the only way to unleash him is when sonic has no rings, but if he was separated from the regular sonic i guess he would be a pretty good bad guy. maybe you could be him in some of the levels. lets say you have a limited time to get to the checkpoints other wise you will die (sonic won't be able to turn back). he will play just like sonic except he will be faster and stronger than sonic. the question is, who would play his voice. would it be the same person who does sonic's voice, except crazier in a way? hmm

Hm.... I'm not too familiar with everything he's voiced (aside from Chris Redfield and Ezio), but I wouldn't be surprised if Sonic's VA made a decent Super Sonic. If he can duplicate an Italian accent, I'm sure he could do something psycho-ish.

But at the same time, I kinda wish Sega left him alone after SA2. Not because I hate him, but because he had earned such a Heroic Sacrifice, only to be brought back to life as a loner who's never happy.
