Description
It is always amazing to me, that these houses used stones from the surrounding fields as the basic building material.Prints available at The Untapped Source [link]

In which country does this house stand?
You have produced a dramatic shot by setting it to the one side.

and now we ship them truck them thousands of miles away and build them to fall at a whiff of the wind ... nod there is beauty in the lasting strength to stand even as the age and aye lose a bit along the way to rejoin the earth they come from ... forgive me my thoughts are mayhaps deeper than usual ... beautiful image

Thanks SC,
your thoughts are just fine. Not all of progress has been progress.
(I just read an article today about the mortgage situation in the US, apparently 85% of the foreclosures were illegal. And it looks to be consistent across states too. Not a good thing to know, especially when the banks were bailed out by the people, and they have not made any changes to prevent the problems they created, or to recognize the wrong they have done to so many people.

You are welcome. This is very much the case but the government and courts seem content because banks didn't close people just lost homes.

still a strange situation SC... the banks are winning both ways in your country and people continue to loose their homes. I am so happy that the rules are different in canada. Free enterprise is a great concept, but when it is practiced by cheat and gouge, I have a problem with it.

I am not disagreeing with you. I have a lot of problems with the way businesses and banks are run in this country. I am just not ready to defect to another country because all countries have problems. I am hoping maybe against hope things will straighten out in time. Deep Sigh

I don't think any one should defect. I am just grateful for where I live. We have problems, as does any country. There are trade offs. It still amazes me how things unfolded in the US. I never would have guessed.

I don't think anyone would have as quickly and deeply as it did. But Maybe they should have when the first set of deregulations were done in the early 80s by Reagan then more by Bush ;(

Many other have the same thoughts. I think it is a good thing that these kinds of images cause us to consider other times, places and people. And perhaps even re-evaluate our own lives a bit.

I thin stone housesa are great and i have always wanted to live in one, however in this climate, in terms of the cost of heating them they are not very practical.

Sutch a shame that it's abandoned, I'd love to flip that house! Its so beautiful, and you can just tell that those stones will still be standing there long after the photographer and viewer are both long gone.
