Description
The next one, however, was something much different, but creative. I understand that the head must be light. So I thought of an idea that might work. From the beginning when I was looking at the stop-motion figurine. I suddenly remembered a film called “Small Soldiers.” As I remember correctly there was a scene, where all the soldiers' toys were made. If you don’t understand what I mean, just watch this on the web.YouTube: Small Soldiers- epic creation scene (22:11)
Before using the clay, I cut out two pieces. One piece was the shape of a skull, block form. Well, it’s a rectangle shape, but you got the idea. Then add a metal wire for support, so the face (clay) is attached without falling off. The cushioning material and the clay face fit perfect. It was almost perfect; I had to cut two smaller pieces off. Just so the clay face would fit like a glove. The clay face was a rectangle, added with eyes (white beads), and a smooth nose. To make the face smoother, I’ve covered it with layers of PVA glue; about two or three layers would do nicely. There is another rectangle piece (that I would not forget), but it was only optional. This was to move the head, without touching the whole head. The shape of the rectangle was long and thin, but not too thin. The material was the same as the head; it was light and easy to cut. There was another reason why I’ve made the extra piece. It’s also to see how long the hairs (maybe clay or random fabric), going to be. Since this is only the skull version of the head. If you see carefully I’ve cut-off two smaller pieces off the rectangle (at the end). So it’s not hard to move the head, with just a finger and thumb.
WHAT HAVE I CHOSEN?
After planning the design of the heads; and making both of them. I had only two options, one was the sphere. The other is a rectangle, but since it’s a 3D shape it’s called a cuboid. Option one and two were the best ideas/experiments that I’ve ever had. I started to think about the two heads again. Wondering which one is good enough for my character; Link Gaorgena Marter (In French: Lien Gaorgena Marter). At the end I’ve chosen option one, the shape was perfect. Just like a manga/anime character, no joke. That’s the reason why I’ve picked option one. Option two was no different, it only had a face. Option one had two parts made out of clay. The face and back head, this was meant to be it, but it wasn’t over yet. If I’d remembered correctly the clay heads might have been broken. Or was it the sphere shaped clay face? Never mind I’ll get to the point. I’d soon made another head, with the same design (option one). This time I crafted the face and back head much better. BUT THAT WILL COME LATER! (so hold on)
Don't get confused or anything but this is the head. Of my stop motion figurine. The same character of mine, known as Link. The name will be changed, so don't go hating on me.
