Personality: Noctus is very standoffish, and generally doesn't like interracting with people if they don't have to. They have one close friend (Dessie), and that's all they believe they need. They're very gruff and blunt, not really caring if they make someone uncomfortable with their presence. Of course, they are very protective of their friend, and will defend her if needed. They also seem to enjoy unsettling people on purpose, though that might just be a general sleep paralysis demon thing.

History: Noctus was just like any other member of their kind, going from "host" to "host", consuming the host's fear, and moving on. Though they were aquaintences with a few other sleep paralysis demons, they never really had a true friendship. And for a while, that was fine. Their kind weren't the most social of creatures anyway, and generally only form close bonds with one or two other creatures. That changed however, when they crossed paths with a particulatly interesting host. Stepping from the shadows and putting her into paralysis was child's play to them, and they fully expected to feed off her fear just like they did with the rest of their hosts. But she wasn't scared. She wasn't scared, nervous, or even indifferent. No, she seemed...excited? That was new. Intrigued by the girl's reaction, Noctus rose to their feet -their horns nearly piercing the cieling- and slowly approached the bed. As they got closer, the girl seemed to only get more excited, and in turn, Noctus became more intrigued. Soon, the demon sat over her, staring into her two wide eyes with their four milky white ones. With a wave of their hand, the girl was free to speak, and speak she did. Her name was Desiree, and Noctus was quite overwhelmed with all the questions she asked them. Of all the responses they got from their hosts, this was certainly the most unique. Strangely enough, Noctus felt compelled to answer her questions, and asked a few of their own. Soon, however, Noctus had to make their leave, as they felt that they couldn't feed here. To their surprise, Dessie asked to see them again, and even more surprising, Noctus agreed.

Soon, Noctus fell into a routine, they would find a host to feed off of for a few days, and then they would go visit Dessie in between those days. A strong friendship began to form between the two, and they began to get less and less careful. Soon enough, their meetings were discovered, and Dessie's parents started to look for ways to get rid of Noctus. Though they weren't worried, exorcists hardly bothered with their kind, unless the sleep paralysis demon in question was being actively malicious. They should have expected that Dessie's parents would move her away from them, but it still surprised them nonetheless. This didn't worry Noctus either, as they could just track Dessie's aura and find her again. When they did, they asked if they could continue to follow her, she said yes, and Noctus made sure to let her know that if she ever wanted them to leave, they would. She never wanted them to leave. Their friend would move houses many more times in her life, and they would always make their way back to her. Finally, when she was old enough, she moved out on her own. The night before she did, however, Dessie extended an invatation to Noctus to move in with her. And, well, who were they to say no?

Powers:
Inducing Sleep Paralysis: With a wave of one of their hands, Noctus can induce sleep paralysis in whoever they choose. They can also decide how paralyzed someone is (such as letting the host talk, or making it so the host can't open their eyes) (This ability requires consent from other members to use on them)

Fear Aura: Noctus can give off a fear inducing aura should they choose to. They usually only use this ability if someone they want to be afraid, isn't. (This ability requires consent from other members to use on them)

Emotion Eating: Noctus doesn't need to eat regular food, and mainly "eats" emotions, specifically fear. If someone is afraid, they can feed off that fear. (Note that Noctus cannot get rid of fear this way, that's like trying to drink the ocean) (This ability requires consent from other members to use on them)

Shadow Jumping: Noctus isn't a raider, but they can jump through shadows and inhabit them for periods of time. Noctus themself has a shadow, however.

Time Sensitive Powers: Noctus doesn't need to sleep, but in exchange, the strength of their powers waxes and wanes based on the time of day. They are at their strongest at night, and their weakest in the day.

Aura Tracking: If Noctus meets someone (either on the street, or they just happened to climb into said someone's house looking for a meal), they can lock onto their aura and track them wherever they may go. There is no escape. (This ability requires consent from other members to use on them)

Other:

They don't need to eat normal food, but choose to do so on occasion for the novelty of it.

They're like ten feet tall not including the horns and doorframes are pain.

Asexual/Aromantic, is in a very strong platonic relationship with Desiree (aka, they're best friends).

Don't worry if you see them in your house at 3:00AM, they're just getting a little snack.
