Description
EDIT 2: Some people have noted that their SAI does not do this. It is because it is not an updated version of SAI that supports transparency. There used to be a journal/ link that I had in the comments which led to a Transparency-supporting SAI, but this link is now down. I do not have a new link; please research and find a transparency-supportive SAI by your own means.ยMy first tutorial lolol //fail
A lot of people have been asking me how to do transparent backgrounds in Paint TOOL SAI. There weren't any tutorials on dA that seemed to be as simple as how I did it (there were barely any in the first place so.)
If you have some trouble understanding the summarized pictures, here's some more info on it.
Basically, in SAI everything you draw is automatically "transparent". When you save as JPEG, which doesn't support transparency, everything "transparent" is turned to white, like how you see it when you are drawing in the program.
Adding a new layer underneath and making it a different color allows you to see things you missed, preferably the whites. Let's say that when I added the yellow, Casey's white hoodie turned yellow also. That means I need to go in and color it white or else it will become transparent as well.
Saving it as 32bpp makes all the areas you didn't draw on turn transparent.
Some tutorials say that you have to merge all your layers into 1. That is not true. I could have had 3 or 4 layers on that Casey picture, it doesn't affect transparency.
I hope you guys find this helpfull!

I ended up exporting the sai file as a .psd, and opened it in another program (Medibang Paint Pro) and exported it as a .png from there. It didnt take too long, and i suppose its better than nothing.

New Question. When I right click, SAI ย treats that as a eye drop ( color select tool ). Any way to customize the right click in Sai ?

The image i'm trying to make transparent is a screen shot, i cropped and saved it in MS Paint. I opened it in SAI, followed the steps, but when i color in the second layer it doesn't show up. What i mean is, the second layer is beneath the image i want transparent, i have colored it in, but the white background from the opened image is still present. How do i get rid of the white background, so that the second layer can show through?

Using HTML on deviantART
Hello!
Hello and welcome to my little html tutorial. I've been working with html codes for a couple of years and I'm going to teach you what I know about using some basic html on deviantART. This won't make you a html expert or something and I'm not an expert myself but it will give just enough knowledge to make your journals, comments, news articles and other neat and lovely looking.
deviantART actually has FAQs about html but I still wanted to do this because they look a bit unorganized, in my opinion. Also, why would you want to look for those FAQs when you can just open this news article where you have everything in one place?
You may already know some of these, but I hope you'll find at least something helpful in this news article.
Some basic htmlBold text: insert text here
Result: Example text
This html code will work in: journal entries, group blogs, comments, artist's commen
