Description
Yes, another Sherlock Holmes picture.I was trying to make it look more or less like pictures during the end credits of the Guy Ritchie movie (those credits are undoubtedly my favourite part of the whole movie
), but with Jeremy Brett, who is the real Sherlock Holmes for me, instead of Robert Downey Jr. So I experimented with digital watercolors in Painter for the 1st time, and it turned out not exactly as I expected. I mean, I still like the drawing, but it doesn't look much like Jeremy

Actually, it is mentioned in the description, how I made it. It's was made in the program Painter X, using it's watercolour tool. Well, at first I made some quick lineart, and then used it as a guide for coloring. The background texture was then added in Photoshop, along with some stains.
All of it was just an experiment, really. I didn't know how it would turn out

I'm sure though, that a better result can be achieved with the real watercolours and some editing in Photoshop, but since there's no 'undo' button in reality, I prefer the digital stuff

I think it looks like Brett! Perhaps a younger version of Brett, but I definitely recognized the nose right away. At any rate, he looks a heck of a lot more like Holmes than Robert Downey Jr.

Yes, I based in on a screenshot from 'The Scandal in Bohemia', and he was still relatively young there

Yes, it definitely is Sherlock Holmes. I'm still trying to develop my own vision of him (though it's still influenced by Jeremy very much).

I always thought that Rathbone looked exactly like how I pictured Holmes to be- which is why I became such an ardent fan. But before I saw his picture I found a painting which was really well done. It's on the cover of 'A Seven Percent Solution'- just in case you're interested.

You know, the 2009 credits actually reminded me a little of the later Granada credits, somewhere around Red Headed League/Final Problem/Empty House.

I just looked at those episodes - yes, you're right, there were some hand drawn pictures of the last frame. But in the new movie they look much more stylish
