Wasn't going to put this up here tonight. Was going to go to sleep. But then my insecurities kicked me in the pants. Especially because this one hasn't really gotten many comments on the (admittedly, new) community I originally posted it to... anyways, I'm a gibbering ball of 'omg, should I not have posted this? Is it the sucks? Should I swear off colored pencils and prismacolor markers for all time?'-ness.So if you're looking at this, *please* review. And fullview. I'll... do nice things for you! Your wish will be my command~

-poor Brian got axed at the last minute for looking like a deranged Harry Potter clone. I should've gone with Poonchy, Drinker of Hate >_<
-and melvin looks nothing like melvin. that kid does not translate to realism easily
-then again neither does Zim
-on that note, the big Zim dilemma was: do I make his eyes small because everyone else's eyes got tiny due to pathetic attempts at realism? *heck* no. so he's got great big contacts with little tiny eyes drawn at their epicenters. hey, nobody but Dib has ever cared about his lack of ears... it's all good, yes?

I really like how Dib came out! The only thing I don't like is Zim's eyes. I think they should've stayed big! That and how his face curves in towards his eyes. I like it flat in a straight line to the tip of his non-existant lip! But that's just me...Everyone else seems to like it, so kudos!

Thanks for giving the kudos even though you had some issues. Very nice of you. I totally see where you're coming from- Zim was AMAZINGLY hard for me to draw in profile, and I think he came out a little too human, all things considered. Lip...yes. >__> And you would have kept the pupils big? Hm... something to think on.

I love how you draw Dib, I think it may be my favorite interpretation of him ... he's sexy and yet still ... DIB. *takes far too many creative liberties with Dib* But you stay true to his design but ... not Jhonen V styel. Me likes~ ... you may make a fangirl outta me yet.
As for Zim, he so cute *hugs* Much love for the gloves and shirt

I think that for many people the problem with Dib's character is that he really has so little hair on his (maybe a little oversized) head. Fortunately, I've a long history of enjoying characters with weird hair and people with little/no hair in general X) But I think that trips a lot of people up.
Anyway, none of that matters at all because I love him for his mind. Completely. Really. Yesss..... XDD
As for Zim!hair... yeah, that looks like it's been shellacked in the series. But since *everyone's* hair is pretty much a stiff shape in the series, I didn't feel and guilt over changing *that* Boy is hard enough to draw as is.
Glad you think my background is a good thing, and not pure unadulterated laziness
