The Battle Gimmick of Pokemon Aether MythosIn Pokemon Aether Mythos, Pokemon battling is like a game of chess
All Pokemon in the Lands of Aether have the potential to be of 5 classes
Pawn (There is one type of pawn class Pokemon for each stat and skill [aka HMs]) (One can only have 1 type of pawn class Pokemon in their party)
Knight (Pokemon of this class are fast and can deal swift and powerful blows) (There can be no more than 2 knight class Pokémon in ones party)
Rook (Pokemon of this class are natural tanks that defend their allies from heavy hits) (There can be no more than 2 rook class Pokémon in ones party)
Bishop (Pokemon of this class either heal their comrades or attack with long range attacks) (There can be no more than 2 bishop class Pokemon in ones party)
Queen (Pokemon of this class are second in command in ones party.) (There can be no more than 1 queen class Pokemon in ones party)
King (Pokemon of this class lead the party into battle and are the most important member. Certain queen class Pokemon can synergize with a king class Pokemon to awaken the king's Valk Potential and awaken that Pokemon's Valk Form for 3 turns) (There can be no more than 1 king class Pokemon in ones party)
Stars can only be given to King Class Pokemon
There are two types of Valk
Valk Aura:
Commonly caused by Lesser Stars (one for each type), Valk Aura boosts the damage of all moves of one type only if the King Class Pokemon that holds it matches that lesser star's designated type by 2 stages.
For example:
If a King Class Pigleif is holding a Grass Star, then all damage of Grass type move done by that Pokemon and its allies are boosted
Valk Forms:
Mainly caused by Greater Stars, King Class Pokemon that wield these stars can synergize with matching Queen Class Pokemon to temporarily awaken its Valk Form for 3 turns
