“Me fall to you, such a pathetic little being? You will fall and you will become one of us.” They shrilled out as Hallovini clawed at them.

  The Vipera leaped up, flying into the air as Hallovini looked up with her wings materializing and she followed in pursuit. Several white blasts followed after Odyssey, all of them missing as Hallovini followed them in hot pursuit. The Vipera turned around to let out a deadly attack of their own which hit Hallovini directly.

“Mother!” Falter shrilled out as Hallovini dropped from the sky.

  The young silken Leirvoid slid out from their hiding place to see the form of their mother lying on the desert sand, unmoving. This proved to be a mistake as Odyssey spotted them from above. With deep, unhinged laughter they chased after Falter as the small Dy’kletiun ran for his dear life.

“Mother! Mother! MOTHER!” He shrieked out, voice full of fear and panic before he let out a loud scream as jaws clasped upon the empty air a few mouse tails away from their own body.

  Just as Odssey was readying another attack with their breath, a dark shape rushed up from behind the Vipera and grabbed onto their leg. The large Vipera let out a pained shriek as Hallovini jerked her head side to side, causing worse damage to her grip on the inflicted’s leg. Turning their head, they snapped at Hallovini as she pulled him back hard and away from Falter. With a grunt, the Vipera lost their sense of balance and fell to the ground as Hallovini let go of their bloodied leg to rush towards the hushed chirps of Falter.
  Feeling Falter rub their shaking body against her leg, she let out small reassuring clicks as she nuzzled him with the side of her head before the sound of footsteps on the sand were heard. Pushing Falter away with her head as they soon ran to go hide once more, she turned forward to confront her opponent only to get slammed to the ground. With the wind being knocked out of her, she lied on the ground as a heavy foot stood upon the side pointed to the air as she tried to recover from the impact. Strange calls and sounds her ears that were soon returned by the pained and throaty cry of Odssey. More? There were more?
    Hallovini could only listen before her face pulled into a grimace as she felt her tail being grabbed before she was thrown into the air for another vipera to slam her into the ground, crushing her into the sand and causing it to fill her vents. Just as she was about to be grabbed again, Hallovini lurched up, clamping down her fangs on the closest thing she could. Causing the iron tang of blood to fill her mouth as she began to jerk her head back and forth violently before pulling up and down. Shrieks filled the air before a sickening ‘riiiip’ could be heard as Hallovini lurched back from the released tension. In her mouth was the wing of one of the inflicted Viperas. Spitting it out, she moved an arm forward, letting out a roar as white blood dripped from the claw marks on her side. With an audible ‘foom’ she let out a big white ball of radioactive gas from her mouth at her opponent who let out a final shriek before they dissolved into particles quickly from the sheer close impact.
  Her sides heaved for air as she heard more wingbeats approaching her. Falter peered all the while from his hiding spot as he saw his mother fight the second Vipera as Odssey watched from a distance before leaving just as his mother had ripped off the Vipera’s wing. Soon enough, Odssey returned with more Viperas in the distance as they landed close to his mother. He watched as she took on the others without hesitation, letting out indignant roars as she was attacked from all sides. Falter let out a cry, he had to do something! Staring at the scene in front of him play, he leaped forward, sprinting towards the scene. His black fur throwing sand into the air as he ran as fast as he could. With a look full of innocent hope and fear at the same time, shadowy gas began to leave his mouth in increasing amounts the closer he got to the battlefield. Hallovini had her face pressed against the ground as she let out calls for Falter to stay away before she could hear the Vipera letting out confused noises as their battlefield began to grow darker. With a loud scream, Falter’s shadow breath flooded out of his mouth, covering the battlefield in black gas before the small Dy’kletiun ran towards his mother. She had fought for him by herself, now she wasn’t alone.
