Description
Started on Feb 3rd 2023 and ending on April 21 2023--------------------MANGA---------------------
DAI DARK *update
This is a manga from the same artist who did Doro Hedoro.
I enjoyed Doro Hedoro so this was easy for me to get into as well.
Basically about a Grim Reaper in space is what I gather so far.
Ok I've read up to volume 4, that is all they have at this time, and it looks like vol 5 will be coming out in the near future.
This is an amazing series, and I like it even better than Doro Hedoro!
There are somethings about Doro Hedoro that I really like, but over all Dai Dark is the winner!
I like the 4 characters traveling in this cool space ship and then getting into a fight with the light cult, I dunno it just works for me.
If you like the film ALIEN with Sigourney Weaver this may appeal to you, not that it's like that, but it has some similarities in style, this manga was definitely inspired by that film.
SMASHED (Junji Ito)
I believe I read Gyo by Junji Ito in the past, I don't remember much but I do remember getting a little into it.
This one I got to sit down take my time and really dwell into it and experience what the hype of Juji Ito is all about, and it did not disappoint.
This is an anthology so in a way you can't go wrong, you are gonna like at least one of the stories in here probably.
His artwork is awesome, you feel the quality and the stories are interesting.
Not my favorite but I can see what the hype is about.
BE VERY AFRAID OF KANAKO INUKI!
Like Junji Ito we have another manga master here. I enjoyed it, excellent work, out of the horror manga, I personally like Mizuki Shigeru (maybe a little light on the horror) and Hino Horror which is now too expensive to get, but I really liked BUG BOY.
DRIP DRIP
I didn't think I would care for this manga but the story was interesting enough that I had no problem finishing it.
Definitely a unique story, hard for me to say who this story would appeal to, but it's well done.
NEO PARASYTE
I went to Kinokuniya with my ex GF and got Neo Parasyte I and III, could not find II.
If you have read Parasyte and REALLY liked it then this is very enjoyable.
III is better than I for me.
Vol I had a lot of high school stuff, and III had more varied content.
Both are anthologies that expand the Parasyte world.

CHRISTMAS ON CRACK
These are short stories by various authors, I was a bit disappointed because I thought it was by Carlton Mellick.
I did enjoy it because I like Bizarro Fiction, overall I would recommend a Carlton Mellick story over this.
For instance Sausagey Santa was better for me than this one.
THE BABY JESUS BUTT PLUG
This is not one of my favorite Carlton Mellick novels but it read smooth like butter, and I went through it like candy crack.
I finished it so quickly.
Gotta love Bizarro Fiction, Eraser Head Press, and Carlton Mellick!!!!
So this couple decide to adopt a BJBP, the thing is like this bizarre baby doll thing that is alive.
And then the husband has problems with it but eventually goes to work, and his work place is super crazy, think The Office but on acid.
When he survives that and gets home, he has to deal with the BJBP which now turns into like a crazy zombie vs clones story, yeah you got to read it to believe it.
CANNIBALS OF CANDY LAND
Oh man this was great.
My Ex GF loves this book.
Author Carlton Mellick in his prime maybe, this sucks you into this world, and reads like candy.
So far most if not all of his books read like candy and that's what I like about his writing style, but this one not only reads smooth the story is good, and interesting and messed up of course!
PARASITE MILK
Next Carlton Mellick story is right up there with Cannibals of Candy Land.
Really well written, very curious story, you don't want to put the book down.
It's gross, disturbing, but super interesting.
The main character and his buddy were office workers, and his buddy especially not the most likable of people but then the story just kicks in and you don't care, you just want to know what the hell is gonna happen next.
ROCKET GIRLS SUPER SONIC
I'm not sure if this classifies as bizarro fiction but it's futanari meaning hermaphrodite action.
I'm not a huge Star Trek fan but I do like it, even more than Star Trek I like LEXX and Red Dwarf so it's no coincidence that I would enjoy this.
Traveling in a spaceship with limited crew members each with their own unique personalities.
Alien hermaphrodite action, not sure what to think of that, it was a little hard for me to relate to, but you could tell that was suppose to be the high light of the book.
Those scenes were definitely unique and interesting.
BIG BREASTED VAMPIRE SLUTS
This book is super thin, got it from Walmart online.
At first I thought it was poorly written, not sure if I could get through it.
And yes I knew how it's suppose to be a guilty pleasure like a B-movie action flick.
But then I realized how the author casted celebrities in this story as if they were a director making their fantasy movie, and that was interesting.
They would describe scenes like the close caption on a film or TV show.
For example, here dark synth wave music begins.
And then the author also put in video game elements as if this was a video game you were watching someone play.
If not for those 2 things then I would have been disappointed.
The simple spelling mistakes were a little bit more often then I would have liked and it was annoying, maybe I caught about 5 or so.
VENUS IN A HALF SHELL
All I can say is that it's not for me, I'm glad I read it, it's retro, a classic, cult classic perhaps, the best thing I can say is that it reminded me of an American version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and that is a huge complement because I really REALLY like Hitchiker's and this Venus book isn't my favorite.
BONUS----------------comic book
SLAUGHTER HOUSE 5 GRAPHIC NOVEL
Ok so my ex GF loves Slaughter House 5 and Kurt Vonnegut.
So this came highly recommended.
It's definitely life altering and I highly recommend it.
I can see movies like 12 Monkey's and Jacob's Ladder being highly influenced by this film.
I didn't really find the humor in it, but it's an amazing book about life, death, what it means to be human.
This book is a treasure to humanity.
