Description
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I finally finished it! The commission for *Riabhach that I've actually had for quite awhile now...
This is a picture that not only represents an everlasting bond between friends, but the thoughts that they will all meet again someday. Each of the three main horses in this picture has passed away. Each was owned by a different person, all friends. The bay brindle mare trotting down the Rainbow Bridge is Brenda Batty Atty, quite possibly the single most famous brindle horse in the world. The galloping black Tennessee Walking Horse mare is Aspen, not as famous, but one that meant the world to those who knew her(also snuck in the BG is her mini, Dancer). And the galloping bay Arabian mare is Annie, another that may not be world famous, but that doesn't change the fact that she was adored by her friends and, in her case, blessed the world with a colt before leaving.
These three mares were owned by three wonderful people, all of whom have accounts here on deviantART.
Brenda was owned by
Aspen was owned by
Annie was owned by
I sincerely regret the passing of each of these horses, even though I never had a chance to meet them, I hope I captured their spirits here. Thank you...
Art is COPYRIGHT to ME. This is a commission. Seriously, please don't steal this.

O_O what the heck? Was I asleep when you suddenly got better with not only anatomy but your coloring as well. <_< I need to wake up. I honestly have not seen you draw or color a better piece. It's unreal.

Nope, I just finally had to use my real skills instead of just half-assedly coloring cartoon ponies...lol These nice ones take too long for me
Thank you!
I must say, I did enjoy this once I figured out how to do the BG.
Oh, and I just added you to my watch list...I didn't realize I hadn't added you Sorry...

I hope you realize that now that you've exposed your true talent, no more drawing ponies LOL. Seriously...I've been doing this half my life..not only could I never master that digitally..but I could never duplicate it traditionally either. The brindle mare is my fave, and the arab as well. *shakes fist at you*...I ish jealous now!

NOOOOOOOES!!! lol It'll depend on what I'm doing school-wise as to how nice my art is ^^ At the very least, all my cartoons have somewhat decent anatomy depending on what style I'm using(realistic cartoon[like the linearts I have for coloring], exaggerated cartoon, Naruto-pony, and the half and half cartoons). I should have some traditional stuff to put up soon as well. A few portraits on commission from one of my professors. I can't paint worth a crap traditionally XD
Thank you so much though! I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of backgrounds ^^

Back grounds were always icky for me. I completely stopped drawing them in high school, didn't even want to try. 2-3 years later out of school...O_O; I start doing backgrounds like it's nothing..and I think my first one was with an air brush of all things...gah. LOL

I loved that little story of the 'Rainbow Bridge.' I remember reading that, and it always makes me well-up inside, thinking about my pets that are deceased, and crossed over.

This is so lovely. It really makes me happy thinking of how, once the pain of life is gone, they can be whole and happy again. The image and quote complement each other so well too. Beautiful image, and a nice tribute to those three mares and their owners.
