well cyndaquil and snivy of my games were girls 1st try, but squirtle, mudkip, and turtwig wer all dudes. seems like a somewhat 50-50

Most of the time, its either Torchic or Treeko. (Personally, I loved having a pokemon that was 2 types. The only starter that's both ground and water is rather helpful!)
