There were no words to express your excitement. Your bestest and most awesome friend in the whole wide world was coming over today and you. were. so. excited!!

Your smile stretched from ear to ear, as you waited on your hivestep. Technically, it wasn't ALL your hive, so it's not really YOUR hivestep, but those are silly details!

Somehow, when he shows up, you kind of know that it's him. It's just the way he walks, and how he looks so angry it's silly. It's almost exactly how you imagined him.

"Hey," he said to you, giving you a weird grimace that might have been a smile. You had let your excitement bubble up to two times too much, and with a small yelp you nearly tackled him in a hug.

You brought him up to your respiteblock, and he tripped on one of your game grubs. Even at four sweeps he had a pretty colorful vocabulary, and you sort of wondered who in their right mind would ever want to suck a nook.

You got him to play a few games with you, and you always won. He had a huge tantrum, threw one of your throwing stars, and you had stopped it from hitting your mainframe at the very last second.
He apologized, and you just giggled and gave him a hug.

You both sat on the floor, sipping juice from small cartons with liquid transfer tubes stuck in them. Yours had been really hard to put in, so he helped you. He called you stupid, but it was hollow. He didn't mean it!!

You both talked about your dreams, but by dreams you mean aspirations. Troll dreams are too scary!
Your friend wanted to be a Threshecutioner, and you thought that was really cool.
You also discussed how you would fill all of your quadrants, every single one, and when you brought up the word 'pail' as a joke he blushed and punched your shoulder. You both were flustered by it, but you laughed, and that made it ok.

You staged a dramatic duel, in which he was the strong Threshecutioner and you were the all powerful Psionic. He accidentally cut your arm and you started crying, so you guys stopped the duel.
He apologized twelve times exactly, and then you both laughed and ate three whole packs of Troll-Tacs. The orange ones tasted like candy.

When it was time for him to leave, you were sad. You might have even cried a little because you wanted him to stay forever. He promised that you would hang out again, that he wasn't leaving for good. This made you smile.

He gave you the hug this time, and it made you feel warm and fuzzy, and part of you wondered is this what pity feels like?? But that made you blush so you laughed it off because he is just your best friend forever.

"Promithe we will be betht friendth for ever and ever?"

"Of course grubmuncher. I'll make you be my friend if I have to."

And then he left, and you were alone again.

"Wh- what the FUCK, stop crying like a wriggler!" You could see the uncertainty in his face as tears ran down yours.

He looked at you, dumbfounded, slackjawed, before closing his mouth and biting his lower lip.

You felt his arms wrap tightly around you, and it only made you cry harder into his shoulder.
He murmured quietly to you, trying his best to reassure you.

"We will Sollux, y-you grubmuncher. I-I'll make you be my best friend if I have to."

And you couldn't even hear through your own sobs after that, and you felt the warm feeling in your chest again, but this time you knew, it wasn't a question you had to ask yourself.

You pulled back and molded your mouth to his, feeling him stiffen- ice ran through your veins and your thoughts were "PING: SERVER IS TAKING TOO LONG TO RESPOND", but finally his lips moved against yours.

You held him tightly, so tightly, and when you pulled away you nuzzled his cheek with your nose.
