Ok so, Im gonna take a break from my godforsaken New Dark Ages Series. Ugh, the map for it is crap and some of the flags make me cringe. But I have all the flags done and I'm too lazy to redo them. So, to help ease the shame, I present this! A Different Revolution! The time period for this map is Post-WWII, with a Cold War between Russia and Canada. That's right! Canada! In this AU, the POD is that Canada joined the Americans full on in the American Revolution against Britain. After diplomatic failures, the 2 rebel nations, the USA and the USC, begin to operate independent from each other, lengthening the war. The United States of Canada wins it's independence from Britain and has them give the land operated and wanted by the USA it's independence as well. The USA, without a prepared course of action from the sudden freedom, falls apart. A new federal movement goes throughout the area, creating the FAAS (Federation of Anglo-American States). This newly free North America (as Mexico is independent as well) causes ripple effects throughout history. Canada is more of a power house than Anglo-America and instead of pushing full democracy, it pushes constitutional monarchy. It cooperates more with Gran Columbia, has better relations with the Tzars of Russia and the Empire of Japan. Anglo-America establishes trade with the Joseon Dynasty. France gains more power thanks to Canadian and Anglo-American backing. The northern provinces of France join the UK. Spain and Portugal unite thanks to Anglo-American encouragement. Mongolia is torn apart by the USSR and Canada. Switzerland expands thanks to Canadian suggestion. A new 4th Reich, influenced by Anglo-America, rises as a democratic, yet fascist, utopia. I'll be doing a flag and back story for every nation on here soon, so for a better explanation of all this, just go and check them out once their up.
