I love the title of this piece, however I have to say it is by no means dead. This work just jumps out at you - it is the monochrome tones, which give it it's life.

Oh gawd!
The lighting, the forms of the trees, the clouds, the water. Only black and white did this justice. It would not have been as half as effective in color.
It reminds of me of a nonfiction ghost story I read. There is a spot along an English river where several people have committed suicide. It is suffused with SUCH sadness, even people not bent on suicide have felt the urge to do away with themselves when at that spot. Some have seen the ghosts of the suicides themselves, beckoning the living to join them...
