this blur effect you obtained only with the focus or in the photo edition? you edit in RAW format or JPEG?

i think black and white fits perfectly with the kittens coat. and the blurry background brings the cat out so good. it couldnt be better.

nice shot... like how the backround lighting seems to match up to the kitten's eye level.

I love the depth of field in this picture. The eyes of the cat, it just pulls you in. And even though I don't really like square pictures, I love this one. Wonderful!

hehe, dzieki.
no z tymi oczami chcialem zeby to wygladalo tak jak wyglada, zeby byly na pierwszym planie, poza mala glebia ostrosci, pomoglo zwiekszenie kontrastu na oczach, bardziej sie "zeszklily".

I think it as a totoiseshell and i was told they can only be female for some genetic reason...the veterinary could have been fibbing though.
They are sooooo beautiful.

yes only female, the males are extremely rare and it is genetically impossible to have a Virile male tortoise shell calico
I have a female and she looks a lot like this one

No, you're right. Tortoiseshell cats can only ever be female. I have two.

wepox In reply to Slinkers [2007-03-18 13:59:15 +0000 UTC]
Tortoiseshell, brindles and calicos are all usually Female, and actually thatβs because the gene that carries orange/red coloration (βOβ is only carried on the female X chromosome. A male (with an XY chromosome) can only have one O gene, but a female could have twoβ¦and if one O is dominant and one βoβ is recessive, youβll get a tricolored cat. (About one in 3000 tricolored cats are maleβ¦it happens only if they get three sex chromosomes instead of two.) the difference between a calico and a tortoiseshell is the amount of white fur. a Tortoise will have little or no white on her markings.

No sweat, just a little info i picked up along the way. it is a great conversation piece to pull out when you want to get rid of someone annoying at a party. they get that glazed over look and suddenly they have to tinkle or something.
