Description Second in the Fall of Gods cycle, The Least Person continues to follow the adventures of Vincent and Kilik as they struggle to prove themselves as heroes and also save the continent of Hoctellus from the grip of rampaging deities. A few of the Cascus Divus have been dispatched by this time, and Vincent's reputation is rapidly preceding him amongst both mortals and immortals. At what might be considered the peak of his accomplishments, though, the fight has begun to take its emotional toll on Vincent, and the political ramifications of a foreign boy killing local gods are starting to really sink in...

Tia-Kel of Estilon - Tia-Kel is a spunky, rather awkward warrior from the jungle nation of Estilon. In fact, she's the daughter of a prominent, wealthy landowner (land being at a premium in the jungle). She's met Vincent and his crew once or twice before, but now that he's come under the political spotlight every ambitious up-and-comer is jostling to get into his good books, and Tia-Kel has found herself in the perfect position to cement her father's prestige through him. Her initial thoughts are starting to seem uncomfortably mercenary and manipulative to her, and while she was never comfortable with them, her growing attraction to Vincent is only making her feel worse and worse, especially given the hard time he's currently having...

Vincent Luloriss - The people are now calling him Vincit Omnia, while the gods call him The Bloody Recusant. Fame and recognition were all he ever wanted, and that much hasn't changed except... The pill to grant a human dragon-powerful magic seemed like a good idea when up against gods, but the power to control blood is so far from heroic that Vincent is starting to question whether he's more of a monster than a hero. How far is he willing to go to prove himself? Is this quest truly righteous, or was it always just a selfish grab for attention? How many lives can Vincent justify ruining or taking entirely before he becomes worse than any of the gods he's killing?

Kilik Tovas - Conversely, Kilik is having the time of his life. He'd never expected to come this far on this madcap journey, and being personally responsible for the re-ascension of the Cascus Fiducia isn't bad either! With the help of Wuxha (god of confidence), Uxvel (god of clarity), and Ixus (god of generosity), how can they fail now? Not to mention the inroads he's making in defrosting the distant disinterest Ilmatar has always shown him until now. Getting the girl and becoming a hero is starting to seem like a sure thing to Kilik (and maybe, deep down, he's glad to finally be the strong, competent one of his old childhood duo; not that he would ever have wished this kind of emotional torment on Vincent, no matter how much recognition he's getting for what he accomplished with Kilik's help).

Ilmatar - Ilmatar is starting to get frustrated with humanity. She's helped kill several gods now, and still people distrust and fear her. Even her own friends are starting to pull away from her, except for Kilik. What's so wrong with killing people who deserve to die? Why is it okay for Sith not to be human but no matter what Ilmatar does she'll never be accepted? Kilik's support is all that's keeping her from giving up this stupid idea of proving herself. Kilik, and maybe a gift from the god of generosity, too...

Sith - One of the fair folk who proliferate Hoctellus, passing back and forth between it and their home dimension. Sith is a mischievous soul who delights in petty jokes at others' expense. She's taken quite a liking to teasing and taunting Ilmatar, and learning about strange human technology from Vincent. As long as they keep amusing her and having exciting adventures, she's happy to tag along and heal their wounds.

Lieutenant Jaxon Fletcher - Apparently one of the best ways to avoid being thrown out of the army after going AWOL is to return in the company of the heroes who are slaying destructive gods and saving the world. Not only has Jaxon not been court-martialed, but they've promoted him to an officer, and officially assigned him as their military liaison to the great hero Vincit Omnia. If Jaxon thought he was under pressure as a Private, he's got the weight of a whole Empire now, analyzing his once uncomplicated friendship for political advantage. Somehow now it's become his job (in absence of Kilik) to protect Vincent personally from gold-digging admirers like Tia-Kel and toxic influences like Ilmatar. With the group now splintering in the wake of Vincent's growing depression, Jaxon is determined to keep them together and remind them why they started fighting in the first place: to save innocent lives.

Nqabisile 'Hide' - Thunderbirds are not only able to talk, but shapeshift as well, as Vincent and company learned shortly following Doctor Jeckal's... injuries. Given the choice between staying with his bedridden partner and going out to get revenge on the gods that broke his mind, Hide leaped at the chance to spread some carnage. He was always the more mercurial one of the pair. The one wrinkle in this plan is Hide's vampiric nature. Normally a thunderbird subsists on the blood of their partnered witch doctor, but on his own Hide figures the blood of his enemies will suffice. And nobody's more qualified to help Vincent grapple with his new powers than Hide.

Zoey 'Zo' Anore - Left behind no longer! At least, not in Quisterra. At the urging of various important families (who could not abandon their own political responsibilities to come), Zo hopped a boat to Hoctellus armed with the dragon-magic pill that's sent Vincent spiraling. And if that wasn't irritating enough, Kilik still won't look at her while Ilmatar's in the room, no matter how nuts the ala CLEARLY is. Well fine. Zo will just keep coordinating their strategies from a distance, and now managing their public relations, too. Little does she realize the target she's just painted on herself for any Cascus Divus looking to get even with the Bloody Recusant...
