"Winston," Grodd began with a smile on his face. "You are a mad genius!"

"Well, certainly do try..." Winston agreed.

To explain, Winston and Grodd had gone out for yet another date and the former wanted to surprise the latter with a gift. Since the chubby scientist knew that Grodd was so in love with his newly acquired heft, he wanted to give him a little something that could sort of solidify their status as an official couple.

Imagine Winston's surprise when found a shirt that perfectly complimented his own. And in his mate's size, no less! Grodd turned about and looked at himself in the mirror a few times before a satisfied look grew on his face.

"Babe, what am I ever gonna do without you?" Grodd jokingly tossed.

"I'm pretty sure you'd manage," Winston responded with a hint of sarcasm that he hoped Grodd didn't pick up. Though the cocked eyebrow on the larger gorilla's face said otherwise.

"Perhaps," Grodd began, tugging at the hem of Winston's shirt which sat a couple of inches away from the waistband of his shorts. "Though you'd probably be an impossible mess without me. Maybe it's about time we upgraded your wardrobe..."

Winston's face flushed red, and not because he unlocked his primal instincts. While he was more comfortable with his chubbier self around Grodd, he still wasn't so comfortable with overt displays of affection regarding this fact in public. He quickly slapped his mate's hand away.

"Stop that! You're embarrassing me..." Winston whined indignantly, which prompted a laugh from the larger gorilla.

"Heh! What's to be embarrassed about? If anyone makes fun of you for your weight or anything, you can just sit on them, right?"

"I'd rather not resort to that, okay?"

"Hmpf! Suit yourself!" Grodd tossed out, making his way to the exit and out towards the streets. Grodd absent-mindedly looked at a nearby clock. They still had the whole day together, and they were gonna make the most of it.

"So where to next, cutie pie?"
