The night sky was clear as crystal and Ryunosuke and Futoru were standing atop the balcony of a local mansion after partaking of an annual gala banquet. Though it was more appropriate to call it a buffet since Ryunosuke was standing with his back arched as he undid his shirt and pants to give his engorged belly room to breathe. Futoru looked over to look at the full glory of his man, not noticing the pain on the dragon's face.

"Fuck, I ate way too much," Ryu muttered through labored breaths.

"That's a first," Futoru joke at his husband's expense. "I figured you'd enjoy a belly busting meal that you didn't have to pay for."

"Oh, I do," Ryu replied, wiping sweat off his face. "But I think I had more than what I usually ate."

"As if being a glutton is a new thing for us?" Futoru joked again, however this time he didn't receive the complementary jab back he was accustomed to getting. He took a closer look at his husband and noticed that he looked rather uncomfortable. Very uncomfortable. "You alright, babe?" Futoru shook Ryu's shoulders which resulted in the red dragon slowly slumping to the ground. Futoru quickly caught him, momentarily noting how heavy he was. Then he noticed something. Ryunosuke was rather warm. Warmer than usual. Like he was having a fever, but it was all over his body. Futoru's body went cold upon realizing what was happening. He quickly pulled out his phone and called for the other members of The RokuNin for aid.

You see, dragons have a unique ailment called "overheating". It's a reaction when a dragon eats far too much and tries to burn it all into energy. As a result, their bodies temperature starts to rise dramatically causing rapid dehydration and exhaustion. This ailment had it's benefits in the olden days when dragons had gas pouches and the process would allow them to rest off a hefty meal so that they would be ready for flight. However, Ryunosuke is a flightless dragon and thus this ailment only becomes a hindrance. Doubly so because of his weight, as his heavier body puts an incredible amount of stress on his now weakened body. If left untreated, Ryunosuke could actually suffer heat stroke and potentially heart failure.

Thankfully a long dip in ice cold water and some soothing belly rubs from his mate are enough to revive him, but that didn't keep Futoru from nearly shitting himself as he kept urging his overripe dragon back to life...
