Ying and Yang

You are the Ying to my Yang. Or is it the Yang to my Ying? In any case, a blue coyote is tied to a tauny-gold coyote. A symbol of how the two are always connected, yet so different in so many ways. They can split apart and not meet on the same paths for many moons, but they are still connected through harmony, balance and spirits.

Why is the blue coyote blue? And the gold coyote gold? Well, blue coyote, he became blue by seeing a blue bird dive into a blue lake and it made him blue after several days singing an ancient song. So coyote took a step back and jumped in and for several days, sang the ancient song. Until one day he came out of the lake and found himself as beautifuly blue as the bird. He got so excited looking at his reflection in the lake that he started running along side of it, and didn't see the stump he was racing towards. Blue coyote hit the stump and stumble and slid into the dirt of the earth. He got up and found himself the dusty, tauny, gold color that you see on coyotes today. But every now and then, you might just find coyote playing in a lake or a pond, trying to become blue again. And with this, it also creates the Ying and Yang. Blue coyote tumbling into his gold self, and gold coyote rolling into the blue as they dive into the water (rotate the image to get the idea).

Something simple I did. Dedicated to someone I've known since highschool. He's special to me.
