This step by step and carefully explained tutorial covers basic eye/face coloring, detailed hair and fur, etc. (mostly basics on how to do realistic drawings)! PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL ON HOW TO DRAW THE HUMAN ANATOMY OR REALISTIC FORMS, but instead is a tutorial for how to cg or color realistically.
Since many people keep asking me if this works on photoshop versions such as 7.0, CS, CS2 or CS3, the answer is yes. If this works in ps elements then it should obviously work on higher versions.

When I add layers on my photoshop It will let me save it there but on Deviantart it wont let me upload it it wont show the picture

I've been doing anime cell shading for a long time and I'm slowly trying to get into more realistic art, and this has helped amazingly. I know it a lot of time and effort goes into these, so thank you VERY much. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.

Omg, very helpful indeed! You basically nailed down nearly all the basics ^^ I'm slowly starting out on painting with the brush in photoshop, so this was extremely helpful. Unlike ImagineFX, which I read so much lol, this one was to the point, and something that every artist should refresh upon. Doesn't hurt to go over the basics every now and then

Great tutorial! It's gonna be difficult to get this colorin stuff down, but this definitely helped! Still havin trouble tho with emulating how you turn a darker/lighter surface of hair into a bunch of realistic strands >.> But I'll keep experimenting >.< Again, amazing tutorial

Interesting technique. :3 But remember that shadows don't include just browns and beiges...depending on the lighting you'll find blues and purples and even sometimes greens. o.O

Lol i know. I was only using brown cause it went with the color scheme i was using. For example, The fur's color scheme was brown, so I used it for that. If it was green or blue or even yellow-pink, then yes its obvious I would have used a different coor >_>
