eeeeeeeeee.... difficult to say XD Well, first of all you draw a braid very simple (like the children do XD) and then you use different shade of grey to give an impression of depth and relief. And finally u try to draw some hair that escape from the braid and you get it XXXD
That's all I can say, actually it comes quite naturally for me!
